  1. Looking at a Jotagas 300 2012 with the swing arm change and AJP hydraulics. What's the opinion on these bikes or do I stick with something mainstream. Thanks
  2. Got a little 2003 txt boy50, starts first kick when cold on the choke. But it is very difficult to start when warm, it takes 30 plus kicks to start with throttle WIDE open technique!! Per mix is at 80-1, that's 60ml of oil per 5 ltrs of fuel.. New plug fitted. Any suggestions, great little bike other than the problem when warm. Cheers
  3. Yep, spoke to Brian, he says just turn up and if possible with the entry form, downloaded from there website. Depending how my son gets on, I may trade the Oset 36v for a little Gas Gas 50.... We shall see. Oset is a great little bike. I only have one set of batteries, and no way of charging at a Trial event, so I hope they last! Regards Peter
  4. Pipster Can we just turn up? Or do we need to join the club and / or ACU prior to coming? Many Thanks
  5. Well, I am taking my son to his first trial tomorow. It is not a dedicated Oset trial, but Manchester 17 that include a 'dead easy' section. Spoke to the secretary, and was told to just pop along and take a look. So that is what we are doing, hopefully get my lad to take part. http://www.manchester17.org.uk/Trials_Pages/Trials_Home_Page.htm Regards
  6. My 7 year old, is after trying his hand at a Trials comp.. I noticed last year there was an Oset Cup being held somewhere. Does anybody know we're I can enter my son in a junior Trials. I am based in the North West Uk. Warrington area. Regards Peter
  7. My 7 year old getting used to his new Oset.
  8. Sparka Throttle is fine once you are on the move... It's applying throttle from nothing that is an issue!!!! Great little bike besides. Regards P.s Frogger, can you let me know what Lipos, you have ordered, and in what configuration they will be connected. Cheers
  9. I still feel that the initial take up, from a standstill is too severe. It compares to riding a conventional clutch bike and letting the clutch out by just letting go. I cannot see how Ian/Oset can say it helps teach the kids how to lift the front wheel. Yes, put your child on the 36v and the front does lift, but surely you teach your child how to properly lift the front, ie: body position/ fork compression etc. The throttle is not perfect from closed to start off... It should be smooth, like it would be if your child was on a clutch operated bike... Do we teach are kids to operate the clutch, by just letting go. No...... Surely a bike setup like this makes riding at a crawl very difficult. Regards
  10. My sons Oset is a brand new 36v bought 2 weeks ago from my local dealer. My son is an experienced rider having had a CrF 50 and then a Cobra 50( similar to KTM 50 ), so he is not intimidated by the power!! It is the initial bite of the throttle, ie: the position from a standstill to actually a position were the bike starts moving, it's either on or off!!! No good for trials. When the bike is moving the throttle action isn't perfect but is manageable.. But it's still need sorting were the power is from and off position to on.. Regards
  11. Frogger The fix is to order the Kelly controller. I just wanted to hear from those that have fitted one, before I spend my hard earned cash on one.. As if the 36v Oset wasn't expensive enough!!!!! Great bike, just let down by the throttle and old tech on the batteries.. Li-po is next, once the throttle is sorted. Regards
  12. Frogger Have seen that link before. Thanks anyway..
  13. My 7 yr old has just got an Oset 36v, which I can't keep him off, which is great. But the take off from a standstill is really jerky!!! I have researched this, and it appears this is a common issue. I have turned the potentiometer up to max, and it makes no difference other than increase the top speed of the bike, which is great, but we still have the jerky throttle. This makes riding at slow speed, which is the idea of a Trials bike, very difficult. I have been advised to buy a programmable speed controller from Kelly Controllers in the US.. Surely if Oset know of this issue, the programmable speed controller should be supplied with the bike??? Has anybody any feedback after changing there speed controller to a Kelly programmable one? Cheers
