  1. Thanks for the message Greg, I found some 5/10/20 w fork oil in our store today so went with 10 and put in 190, I'll let you know if it feels any different. Forgot to measure my spring though remember the come level so prob std. Think thats what shoes I have in my brake too. Just got to sort out sparks on mine then I'll be out on it? Thanks Tony
  2. Looks the same as my 198a except you're riding yours which is the most important thing for a Bultaco Right must get mine back out soon Tony
  3. Just doing my 198a forks too not sure what springs are in there but we have various fork oils at work 5/10/15 and was thinking 10w myself is 190ml per leg a standard amount? What length are the long springs BTW? Thanks Tony
  4. seems to be fetching good money and looks rather tatty http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170704934925?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1413
  5. I know there's always talk of the magic 4 psi in the trials world. but what do most of you run front an rear and do you change pressures for different conditions? Tony
  6. Like it Paul and good to see it out there and not on a shelf, mine's 10yrs younger and hope to do a few trials on it this year. I've done some practice on it just need a day away from the family, how do you find the meetings your doing? are you running blue route? what club? Tony ps After yrs road racing and sprinting I've got the Bultaco bug and would love an older one to tinker with and ride
  7. Will do, wrote it down and left the bit of paper at work , I'll call Thurs/Fri Thanks Tony
  8. Thanks for the replies Legs I'll make a note of the engine number Tomorrow, I'll also check the points(been a while since I've played with points), is that 2.8mm BTDC points beginning to open? What's the recommended gap fully open? Also thanks for the condenser tips Still fancy a new kit though, money may get in the way and the fact I've got several other bikes that like emptying my wallet then there's the kids overall would like my beloved Sherpa to become mega reliable so I can ride whenever and possibly do the odd novice trial Thanks Tony
  9. Having sorted carburation and airfilter out, my bike developed a miss fire at the end of the last session. Sure it's ignition not had chance to have a look (bike's at work will get cover off on Monday) though remember seeing it had a femsa coil. What options are they for upgrading? seen the 'eletrexworld' kits and know other companies sell other versions, what have most of you converted to?. Or should I sort what I've got, check wiring, condenser etc? I use to race two strokes and had lots of trouble till I converted to Motoplat/PVL type, then just set the timing and forgot about it Also what's the timing setting for my model either in MM or Thous BTD? Thanks Tony
