hi. ive wrote on this forum before and everybody is really helpful and kind, anyway my 96 gas gas jtr is 5 up 1 down like most bikes, and if i ride in gear 2 and cut it out, then i go down 2 and its not in nuetral, however it will still go down another gear? i think it is something in the gearbox that is knackered but i dont know anything if im honest, i just want it to run properly it had a bunch of problems and ive fixed them all this is all thats left now...... thanks jack

i too had this problem but not quite as serious, i wanted to get into the world of trials and i had already rode dirt bikes, so i went and found a gas gas jtr on ebay for 540 quid, knowing this was a bargain i went for it, went to go pick it up and it was at some guys junkyard but it seemed to run okay, i took it home and took it out for a proper ride and the back brake didnt work it was seized open. the clutch was dodgy and it was impossible to get into gear, half of the plastics were missing and the exhaust held up with silicone sealant. only little problems so i bought new plastics a new brake setup and give it a good strip down fresh fuel and a new spark plug, now it runs fine and gears seem to be okay everynow and again it skips a gear, but its okay as a beginners bike. serves me well, however soon ill be interesting in renewing into a newer lighter model, hit me up if your interested?

im gonn have to buy a chain delinker then there cheap enough to come by on ebay right?? also i spent like 20 minutes cleaning my sprocket becuase it was thick with gunk so i scraped most of it off with a blunt flathead screwdriver and washed it with turps just turps in a spray bottle and it once again shines clean gold

hi ive posted previous problems about my bike and you all fixed them so here goes sometimes if i stall the bike because it is still a cold engine i can knock it back into neutral and it will roll freely but a couple of times now it has knocked itself into gear also i rode it the other day and rolled it into the garage for storage when i came back to it it was in gear and nobody had ****ed around with it is this a simple fix or could it be the clutch ? thanks

hi can i use turps to clean it ? coz mines more gunk than it is metal the previous owner didint look after it very well

thanks guys ill be taking it to bits today to change the bearings also it has just had a new plug and i lately stripped down the carb and rebuilt it so ill try and adjust the screws also which one do i adjust the one on the left or the centre one?

hi when i start my trials bike i let it warm up until the colling fan kicks in but im practicing so when i try to balance at a slow speed i keep very little revs on and it cuts out is there anything i can do to improve this alo when im riding over like logs and **** and if i go too slow it will cut out again the revs will just stop and it will start to splutter :/ is this a problem fixable without new parts or ?

do it the redneck way bro ( btw im not a redneck) i saw a video where these guys spray something flammable around the edge of the tire where it goes onto the rim and light it and it pops it right of bead
