  1. Perhaps you are thinking of green lanes rather than trials?
  2. Ok, so after some diagnostics..... I had a strong blue spark, what felt like normal compression, fuel to the carb, fuel in the float chamber.....still no starting. I suspected piston rings so i then poured a cap full of fuel into the spark plug hole and replaced the plug, kicked her over and she ran on the fuel in the cylinder. So it's not likely to be rings. I then removed the carb and stripped it completely, cleaned it and fitted back on the bike. I did notice on removal that the fuel input was positioned straight upright, which could have put the fuel line under some undue tension. When i re-fitted it I adjusted the fuel input so that the fuel line was not under any tension or not at right angles. Fuel on, choke on, 3 kicks and wayhay!!! Back to normal!
  3. 2006 GG125 cut out a few times last season and was difficult to start, wouldnt start from a kick but would bump start down a hill or being pushed. It was then fine for quite a while but a few weekends ago after a practice session it refused to start again. Ive got a spark and fuel, although not sure how bright the spark should be (the plug not me lol) Should I be checking the stator? How and where??? Any help appreciated guys
  4. Hi James, There is plenty of info on Croft Trials Club in Darlington and also Lime Kiln Woods in Catterick within these forums, along with contact numbers etc. I used to be a member of Croft but have since moved Darn Sarf. There are usually a few blokes kicking around both places on a weekend but its best to ride with a buddy. There are also a few places in Teeside to practice, the main one being in Guisbro' again you will find info on these forums, try a search for the buzz words. Hope this helps mate, if not then inbox me your number and i'll give you a bell. Kind regards Pete
  5. Hi Jambo, I've just moved from North Yorks and you are blessed with some great Trials in that area. For practice try Croft trial club at Dalton woods (Croft) and also Lime Kiln woods in Catterick Village, all contact numbers are available on here somewhere. Have fun Pete
  6. Anyone out this weekend in the Colchester area?
  7. Many thanks for the info, i was ready for spending a fortune in a local HG shop but with this knowledge I can have a good shop around and get a good deal from somewhere. We may even have ATF at work :-)
  8. Does anyone have any advice on the make of oil I use? Is there a prefered oil brand? Fork and Gearbox?
  9. Hi, I am thinking that I should really carry out a full service on my 2006 model GG125, It's not had one since I bought it over the winter period and I'd really like to get amongst it and make sure everything is clean, lubed properly and is at the correct setting. My question is, are there any service manuals/publications out there in the public domain that give a guide on oil quantity, oil and lubrication types and torque settings etc? Also, where is the best place to purchase all the service items? (Oils, air filter etc) I don't really have a local shop any more and I haven't the option of booking it somewhere to get done (literally) so mail order or internet shopping is preferable. Many thanks in advance of any advice Pete edit due to another search of the forums found this http://www.gasgasmotos.es/en/manuals.html i think it covers the manuals and torque settings etc so i just need to purchase the oils now.
  10. Is there a preferred contact number for the Tuesday night or just turn up and pay to play?
  11. Hi Mick, Are there many places for green laning around Colchester? I also own a road bike so will be keeping my hand in there too! Pete
  12. Very many thanks for the info, unfortunately I can't get out to play for the next few weeks but should be all set by end of April :-)
  13. Good day ladies and gents, I am fairly new to riding trials bikes but have been a road bike rider for 25 years. A group of mates used to meet at Croft trials club (North Yorkshire) on a saturday to basically have fun and improve our bike control skills. I am now moving from North Yorkshire to Colchester in Essex and was wondering if there are any similar facilities in the Colchester area? I have a Dave Cooper rack fitted to the car so don't mind some travelling. It would be good to meet up with like minded individuals and groups in Coli, hey I may even pluck up the courage to attempt a trial one day ;-) Kind regards Pete
