My 300 pro started running bad at the weekend. It sounded like 'pinking' or over heating. The bike stopped after about 30 seconds of running like this. I can notice a puff of air coming out at the bottom of the cylinder when I kick it over. Is this likely to be as simple as replacing the base gasket or am I looking at a more serious problem?
I am considering my first SSDT in 2013 (although more likely to be 2014). Just wondering how 'legal' myself and my bike need to be, I know I'll have to take my bike test however I'm not sure what insurance etc would be required.
Also, how much would I expect the week to cost including entry etc?
Just installed a new kickstart quadrant on my 09 300 pro. The shaft is in place with the spring loaded. When I push the kick start down the quadrant engages with the idler gear and turns it, however on the return the quadrant and the idler gear do not dis-engage. Any suggestions?
I've just replaced the kickstart gear on my 09 300 pro. I'm just wondering how the shaft goes back on? I watched a video by jim snell which says it needs a full anticlockwise turn before it goes into place. Mine seems to go into place with about half a turn. Any advice?
Im also attempting the scott for the first time and im not sure whether to be excited or nervous! Has anyone had any info sent back from the club or will this come out aftet the entries close?
One of the fork legs on my 09 pro have a slight scrape on it, meaning I am constantly replacing the seal. I've taken the worst of the roughness off it with fine emery paper but it hasn't helped. Does anyone know of any products I could use to fill the scrape? I've heard a few people mention plastic metal?
Just wondering how often you'd expect to replace rear wheel bearings? I replaced the rear ones on my 09 pro in February and they seem to have some movement already. I ride for an average of 4-5 hours a week. Is this normal?
Are the wheel bearings a specific gas gas part or could I get them from a bearing shop?
Thanks for the replies lads, I look forward to getting my entry in. I ride for around 5 hours most Saturdays and Sundays and try to fit in an hour here and there during the week, I've also a fair bit of enduro experience so hopefully bike fitness shouldn't be too much of a problem (fingers crossed!). Are there any common modifications that people make to their bikes to prevent mechanical problems?

Thanks for the info. Any idea how much fuel we are likely to need for the 2 days? Would 3 5litre cans plus a full bike be enough?
