  1. i have just bought an 2008 280txtpro that is in need for some spares, i have found most of what i need, but i cant seem to find the mudguards for it on any onlinestores. I live in Sweden and the very few shops that carry trialparts and equipment are closed for vacation as far as i know. Any ideas of were this can be found? And is there anyone that can tell me what mudguards that will fit my bike? Does the front mudguard fron newer models fit? Many thanks!
  2. Thanks for the information, had no idea that the weight difference was that much ..
  3. Im going to have a look at a -98 270 txt, i used to ride many years ago and im trying to get back in the sport again, depending on the condition, can this be something to start over with or should i directly look at later more expensive bikes? Is there any particular things to look out for in this model? I have attached a picture of the bike below. All help is much appreciated
  4. It certainly is , unfortunatly i broke some bones in my foot yesterday dropping a waterboiler on it at work, and i had planned to go see it tomorrow. So i guess i have to wait for a while now. To bad since i had hoped to ride a few weeks before snowfall. Nice to hear that its good bike though.
  5. Thanks for the tips,it has been a while since i was active in trails so i have been looking for 200-250 or 125:s but here in sweden its only 290/300:s or 125:s on the used market,or atleast thats how it is right now. So for a newbie i guess it s better to start with a 125. I have also heard that Shercos are reliable, maybe you just had some really bad luck fellonmelug? Or have you heard about others with the same problem? And yes the bike is for sale in Sweden, 40km from were i live. As for service, are they easy to work with? For example changing a piston?
  6. Im going to have a look at a used 125cc Sherco(modelyear 2009,academy replica edition), i need some pointers on what to look or look out for. The bike in question has had one owner seems to be in good condition. //Thanks
  7. Ok, not an easy decision, my first option was to try to find an descent used 250, did not think about the option to tame it down if needed so thanks for the advice. This should broaden the selection of bikes a bit but the 250s are hard to find around here, its mainly 290/300 and 125 bikes.
  8. Many thanks for your thoughts, i will definitively look into the 125cc bikes. Im at a beginners level now even if i have had a few years experince in the past, so i guess this also points me towards the smaller engine bike. Also it seems that when comparing bikes in about the same pricerange, i can get a 4-5 year newer 125cc bike then comparedtothe bigger ones.
  9. Hi all, Im planning to get started in trails again after some 15 years or so. My last bike was an 125cc gasgas (think it was a 1990 bike). The question is if i should go for a 125cc, or a bigger bike? Locally i have found a beta 270 rev3, and a 2009 125cc Sherco for the same price, after what i have been reading i understand that its easy to be tempted to buy a bike with a bigger engine then you have use for. I guess that alot has happened in the motor department since i last was riding trails and a 125cc might be enough for me (Im a small guy 60kg/175cm). Happy to hear about your experiences and ideas. //Mic
