Just my 2 cents, but if you get an otherwise good bike, main bearings isn't the end of the world. They don't last forever on two strokes, and you get to put new crank seals in and stuff at the same time. Just my point of view, mind.
I'll turn the question round and say that is ~8% increase in capacity. How much difference do you think it can make? If it has a steel/iron liner I'd be more concerned how thin the liner now is. My 2 cents!
I've tried many times over the last few months to use the For Sale search facility on the home page of TMX News. It never returns any results for me. Is it me or is it broken? Thanks.
I can't imagine you definately need new forks. Even if there is excessive looseness in the sliders, you can replace bushes in them normally. If there aren't any bushes, a good restorer could still bore the sliders and bush them for you. HTH
There's been tons of stuff on EBay recently for Beamish's but I haven't seen these. If you want them promptly, it maybe a case of going to a local machine shop and getting them made?
Steve - if you fancy a Gollner KT, my mate who trades as TY Offroad will have what I think is Gollner KT for sale on his stall at the classic show this weekend. It is complete as far as I know but needs some TLC, as in it is painted all black, including the frame, but I'm sure it is a Gollner underneath. He also has a Godden framed Majesty project bike too... Sorry - couldn't resist teasing you with that
Thanks for the info on those two bikes. Unfortunately, I've only had the Beamish for about 3 months. So those other bikes are out of the question presently. I've got a few jobs on the go with the Beamish to get it back to pristine condition, I only have a couple of hours a week free, so it's slow going. But I'll get there.
Thanks all for the info on the prices of Hondas. I don't think I'll buy one. I could buy the Gollner KT AND the Godden Majesty for the price of one Honda then. I'm greedy I'd take the two bike option!
No you didn't slag off my favourite bike! Presently, I've got a Beamish 250cc. But I might be tempted to get a couple of "friends" to keep it company sometime. I'd like a KT250 (Gollner if poss) and a Majesty. Better keep saving! Cheers.
Personally, I agree with Ferret Flasher. There's sound technical reasons why trials bikes are singles. I'd put a Mont engine back in it myself. I can't think it is worth anything more than as a rolling chassis. My 2 cents.
Good solid old machine IMO. I bought one a few months ago in red/black. If I can be of assistance please don't hesitate to message me. There's a surprising number still around. I think 4 on EBay at the moment.
Oh dear. Well worth keeping an eye on EBay. I have been surprised by the amount of Beamish stuff that goes on there. There must be more bikes out there than I thought. Sad that they're being destroyed though. I saw a frame for
