Hi everyone I'm beginning to wish I hadn't bought this montesa now, I've just rebuilt the carb after the animal that owned it previous had bodged just about everything, it now runs sweet but the engine sounds terrible, I've removed the flywheel cover and there is play in the main bearings. Can anyone give me any rough Gide line on what these engines cost to rebuild? I'm an engine reconditioned so the labour isn't an issue I've never bought 2 stroke engine parts before. And are the engine parts available, bearings gaskets piston kit etc Where's the best place to get the parts?

just to let you know what i found in the carb Pilot: #33 Mixture screw: 3 turns out Needle jet: D37 Neddle: K270 Needle clip: stock 3rd groove Throttle valve: #5.0 Main: #110 Starter: #60 does this sound about right??

That's great thanks for that, I'll get it back together today and let you know how I get on. Do montesa' shave a sight glass or any way to check gear oil level? I can't seam to find any way to check oil level. Am I right in mixing the 2 stroke 70ml to 5 litres?

Hi everyone, After nothing but problems with my beta I've decided to go for a montesa believing that with Honda engine it should be reliable. I've just picked my montesa 315r up today, The guy I bought it off has had the carb stripped and it is now flooding and won't start. My question is can anyone give me the STOCK carb jetting and settings? Also what spark plug should be in it STOCK? Can I use ATF in the gearbox as I did with the beta? And how can I remove the fuel tap from my tank when the nuts are spinning as the previous owner has covered it in bathroom sealent to stop it leaking but it still leaks. Any advice will be great, thanks in advance rich

hi everyone ive just registered my beta rev3 for the road just in time for some snow fun, now this my sound a bit of a stupid question but how are people fastening the number plates on without catching the wheel and causing any other issues? is there a over the counter bracket/holder i can buy or is it a DIY job? thanks rich

yes the fan is working 100% i checked that but as for the water pump i haven't checked that, i will check it. is there a problem with the water pumps on these bikes?

Hi guys sorry for not getting back intouch sooner, I've done all the obvious maintenance, clean carb properly, stripped all the jets out and blasted them through with air line, set the float hights, fresh fuel, new plug, new air filter, new carb to engine intake rubber, I've cut the ht leed back to fresh, it runs perfect for an hour no matter how hard you ride it, then all of a sudden it starts spluttering when under hard load, still runs fine at low revs, and doesn't develop any further or get any better or worse. It's really strange, I'd prefer to fix the bike as it's mega tidy and just had all new headstock bearings and swing arm bearings etc

Hi everyone newbie here, im new to trials and ive just bought myself a 2001 beta rev3, although i love trials riding so far my bike has started with issues :-( Im hoping to be at bumpy in Leeds next weekend.

Hi everyone, ive just been out on my 2001 Beta rev3, its been running fine most of the day, but after about 2-3 hours it developed a strange splutter/missfire when i give it a fist full to get up a hill. its never done this before. has anyone got any ideas? or known fixes? Thanks in advance Rich
