  1. Hello Steve, if you're near rayspeed I'm near you. Which Wassell have you got ? I have a couple of them one on the road and one being refurbed, do you have any spares?
  2. Hi, I have a Wassell with a sachs 5b engine (not the radial fin head). The tank is bare and I think it has maybe come back from the USA where it may have been a Penton Mudlark. It has orange Petty high guards on it but the Mp forks have the lugs for a low mounted mudguard. I cant help you with the spec for the guard but wondered if you knew where I might get some brackets from and what guard you ended up using? I also have a wassell Bantam with its original front guard (high mounted) which may well be the width radius of the low one. Thanks Guy
  3. Forks separated now (S600 not S200!), I managed to undo the nut whilst the forks were compresses (thanks for the help). Dampers were fidly to get out as one of the circlips is a way up the tube, in the end I had to grind down an old thin scredriver and put a bend in it then hook the eye of the clip. I'm thinking of having the tubes straightened and re-chromed but have also asked the people at Greeves for a price for replacements if they will supply them (assuming they fit). I'm just waiting for a reply. They supply a whole new fork but sadly its out of my budget for the rebuild (£595 without yolks).
  4. Hi Trialsrooster, just curious as to how you knew that you had the last Wassell Bantam produced and wondered how many were actually made.
  5. Thanks for the replies. I'll try compression and the broom handle, problem is that the bolt appears very tight, I had top get a big tube on the Allen key to get it moving at all and then the whole damper starter turning. Just to make my day I've also noticed that the fork legs have a bit of a bend on them.
  6. Hello, I would like to fit some new seals on my Metal Profile s200 forks. Do I need to remove the sliders from the tubes to do this? If so does anyone know how to do this? When I try to undo the bolt at the bottom of the fork that goes up into the damper the whole assembly goes round inside the tube. Any ideas anyone please. Also if anyone else has a Wassell Bantam I would love to hear from you and exhange pics and info etc.
  7. Anyone got any pics of their Wassell Bantam , I'm just starting to restore mine. I read in an article (On Two Wheels issue 100 1978) that they made 50 Bantam frames in 1971 but it didn't say 50 in total. I just wonder if that bit of info has been corrupted a bit or if they didn't start at number 1. My number is in the 60's so presume I have a late one. It was registered in 1974 and has a V5. Please get in touch if you would like to share pics and info.
