Complete Novice Regulations Question
Hi all. I'm still rebuilding by bike at the minute but it's getting close to completion I have a few questions.. After I've had some practice time and run the bike in (an old beta techno) I'd like to have a go riding a proper trial. Is there any regulations etc to compete and if so where can I find these? My bike is rather tatty and I remember reading you must have things like balls on the end of your levers I've replaced mine but I'm missing plastics like fork covers, brake disk cover and want to know if these are needed in a trail? In hindsight If I'd spent a little more I could of got a lot cleaner example but have enjoyed rebuilding it and I suppose I know it's mechanically good now. If I enjoy the sport I plan on getting a newer bike next year and keeping this beta as a practice mess around bike Many thanks Steve

Techno 98-99 Cdi Box
Hi all.. Im currently rebuilding an older 94-95 techno but long story short I've fitted a 98-99 engine and electrics. Currently I'm struggling to find a place to mount the later, much larger cdi unit. I was just wondering if anyone knew where it was fitted to the original bike? Many thanks steve

Head Gasket Beta Techno
Ok brilliant I'll post one tonight when I finish work. this is my first trial bike, brought it as a wreck thinking it would be a cheap way to try the sport lol. In hindsight I wish I'd brought something newer as so many parts seem obsolete on the techno I've spent ages sourcing parts lol Many thanks steve

Head Gasket Beta Techno
I've just compared them you are 100% correct they are indeed different! What a pain in the backside lol. I'm not buying another gasket set :-/ think if get away with a cut and shut of the two with a small bit of gasket sealant?

Head Gasket Beta Techno
Ah this maybe why it leaked. I recently rebuilt engine with all new gaskets but the one I fitted was green with blue seals. I've ordered a new one online where it stated it would fit techno rev and evo 125-290cc I shall see how this measures up if not I'll try making my own. Thanks for your help. When normally fitting the ones with blue pipeing would you have that facing up towards the barrel? Cheers Steve

Head Gasket Beta Techno
My apologies. I meant the base gasket. The head gaskets (o-rings) seem fine. Still learning all the terminology on these 2strokes haha Many thanks Steve

Head Gasket Beta Techno
Hi all. Well I've finally finished rebuilding engine started after a few kicks much to my delight However it was leaking coolant from the base of the barrel.. Removed barrel and I believe I've found the issue just wanted to make sure. On head gasket should the silicon pattern and writeing face upwards? I believe I've fitted mine upside down lol Many thanks Steve

Beta Techno Information Required
Hi all. Well the engines back in now rebuilt. My next issue is the wiring. I had to use later crankcases so also had to use that generator (due to mountings being different) I believe the engine is 1998-99 and I'm trying to wire it up to a 1995 ish bike. My old bike has 4 wires the new has 5 possibly 6 going into a multi plug. Can anyone send me a wiring diagram or shed some light on the situation Many thanks Steve

Beta Techno Information Required
I got my replacement crankcases today and noticed my stator plate will not fit. I presume my old engine is 1995 or earlier the new is 1998. My old stator uses the screws on the outside of the plate to secure it this case has extra castings in the center and 3 offset screws to hold it.. Can anyone confirm this n what years stator will fit my new cases? Also would I need to buy new flywheel etc? Many thanks steve

Beta Techno Information Required
Thanks all for replys I emailed beta uk and they where very helpful from photos told me my bike is a 96 with 95-94 forks on it. Very impressive I've also spoken to haven trials about a few parts etc and they where brilliant really helpful.. I've managed to source some second hand crankcases so looks Like I'll be doing full rebuild also whilst it's in bits I'll go over frame and suspension links bushes etc. was the techno known for any issues in particular? Many thanks Steve

Beta Techno Information Required
Hi all. Firstly great forum some very interesting reads. I've recently brought a beta techno. I plan on tidying it up, noticed the crankcase has cracked and been welded at some point and it's not pretty so will strip down and get it rewelded inside and out or poss a new case. Which brings me on to my questions. I can't seem to find any technical data for the bike I thought it was a 1998 beta have said its a 1996. 1.does anyone know where I can get data, service manuals, wiring diagrams from? 2.is there any major differences in engines and frame parts between the years? 3.is it actually a beta engine or is it a rebranded rotax etc? Many thanks Steve
