  2. What I mean is ... Is the rev plate provided with the reeds a replacement for the original one ..the standard one come 3 quarters up the reeds whereas the new one only covers the bottom strip where screws are ... HELP !!
  3. Well the boyesens came with a small rev plate . I presume this is to replace the stock ones ..any ideas

  5. Please help ,,!!! Having a nightmare installing a set of boyesen dual stage reeds .. I've managed to get the old ones out but when trying to install the new ones I'm struggling. If I screw the reeds and rev plate in I then can't fit the square reed block over the ends of the screws and if I try to screw them in with the metal block in position the holes are obstructed. It's driving me mental and am gunna end up damaging something if forcing it . Thanks

  7. Been soaking my pro 280 front pipe and mid box in caustic for last 48 hours .. I checked earlier and ice llike crystals are forming in pipe and carbon slightly loosening .. How long does this process usually take .. Any help very welcome
  8. The exhaust has been soaking for two days . Weird ice like crystals developing in pipe . Carbon loosening .

  11. Hi all . Had my exhaust mid and front in caustic for about three hours and not much going on at all . I fill with cold water and yeah the water has warmed but not the reaction I was expecting .. How long till all that oily grime starts shifting .... Thanks in advance . Chris .
  12. Thanks Jon .. Will this suffice long term or are the o rings essential .. I'm soaking mid box.and head pipe in caustic tomorrow .. They are steel so should be fine ??. I hope ... The expansion chamber is almost blocked solid .. Once this exhaust is sorted .. The bikes ready to trial . It's been a long road but sense of acheivement out ways all .. Thanks

    Can anyone help I am after the four o rings that are in exhaust system . There are two from down pipe to exp chamber and two from chamber to the rear can . I'm after a uk stockist please gents . Any help appreciated . Sorry 2004 txt 280 pro . Thanks

    Hi all .. My front and rear brakes on my 280 pro where not very good . So replaced pad and changed brake fluids and bled them out .. But they are still not locking wheel up. When I was pushing caliper pistons they were very hard to move . This bike had been stood for over a year . Thanks
  17. Totally depends on condition it's in . you would obviously pay more for a say bike that's done nothing except sit in showroom or dry stored , in comparison to a 2012 that been trailed and practiced on every week and been unserviced from new ,
  18. I am new to this and posted about six probs with this bike I've bought .. U see it was in storage for 5 years and a right mess when I got it .. I'm trying to set the carb up now .. It idled great for about 30 Seconds then revs like crazy I have to shut it off at switch .. I've just stripped carb down today cleaned all jet but changed needle clip to its lowest notch .. Is this the problem .. Thanks for help
  19. It leaked the same before I repacked .. The front pile seems ok but Middle is very oily
  20. I've just stripped and repacked silencer .. So it jet be mid box then ... Itspreety mingling .. Anyone know part number or good clean method .. Thanks
  21. Back again guys .. My front pipe to mid box is kicking out fumes back towards cylinder .... What's the best fix .. Tarried exhaust sealant and it just keeps cracking and look awful .. Cheers
  22. Thanks guys it's a 2002 gas gas txt 280 pro. I shall set the fuel screw three turns out and adjust the idle to suit thanks for help .
  23. Yeah thanks I was looking through that earlier... My air screw on carb is set just before it starts to rev up on its own at idle ... Is this too much air ... It's not revving but another eight of a turn and it would start to rev. These are newby question I know but am struggling ... Thanks
