  1. So I've been working on learning as much as I can as fast as I can. Its actually been going a lot better than I thought. I can balance about 50% of the time. My clutch control and throttle control are 4x what it used to be. One think Im still having problems with is timing. Such as loading the suspension and letting out the clutch to lunch the bike. I've been working on small bunny hoops to help this. One on thing that I'm having problems with and always have even on the bigger bike is remembering to cover the break during a wheelie. I really want to use the wheelie to help find that rear glance point. One other thing i've learned is a rear wheel pivot! kind of fun actually. Any advice on what else might make things better. I've been riding an hour each day when I can. But its getting cold here soon so the riding season is going to be cut short here soon.
  2. So I just replaced my throttle cable on my 06 TXT 300. Now when i go full lock to the right to work on my balancing my motor revs high. I'm thinking I wither installed the cable wrong or I adjusted it wrong or its routed wrong. Any one have photos of how it should be routed. I didn't think to look close at how it should have been routed when I took the old one off? how should it be adjusted? Im new to trials so bare with me.
  3. The topic is the question... Any one have a link for US Based GasGas Parts supliers I need a few parts to fix my "lessons"
  4. So I took my shinny bike out, a 06 GG raga 300. It did not go well. Hahaha had plenty traction just no enough talent. Few question, how should my clutch be setup. It feels like it doesn't engage until it's almost all the way out, to be fair I have been riding with an auto clutch on my 12' 500xc-w so I'm having to re learn the clutch but it still feels a little used. What is a US based source for trials gear, helmet, boots, gloves..... I'm guessing my heavy water proof riding pants are not suited for this sport... Lol What things should I focus on to get started. I've been rolling around my lot working on slow control and trying to balance. I can. Hold it at a lock and balance for 10-15 seconds before I lose it. I also can go very slow with the front straight and keep my balance. Lame for the vets I'm sure but hey this is day 1! Lol. Need some new parts after today. pinched the throttle cable.. Broke the throttle cover and scratched some handle bar stuff! Oh we'll let the good times roll. I don't know a lot about my bike yet but will some inform me as to the gears, 1-4 seam to be low low and 5th seams like a transport gear... Info?
  5. I did not know that about the levers. I normally just run bark busters on my big bikes and having the shorter levers makes it easy to grab with just one finger. Im not looking to compete just ride To ride here in Colorado in the Mountains you have to have a sparkie! I think the techincal riding will really help. I enjoy the really hard and rockey trails now and I a on 500XC-W and I think learning to ride with the trials mind will help me to ride smother in the more techincal sections. I've never raced MX so Im not the jump high ride on a track type. One problem I've always had is using different parts of the bike to ride more efficently. Sadly most of my learning is going to come from youtube. but I think with a little time and practice i can figure out some of the basics then meet up with other trials riders to help with the more techincal stuff.
  6. Another odd question, How many CC's? The original guy is sending me paper work.
  7. Yeah they seam to have been ground down. Normally this is how I do my big bike also. It it not normal?
  8. Hi every one. I've been riding off road most my life. But have been living in bliss about my riding. I want to learn trials to help my single track riding and also learn a new sport I just picked up my first trials bike in a trade. I know little to nothing about it. Help me learn! I know it's a 2t and a gasgas... Past that... Help!
