  1. What solved the problem for me was to service the bike every 15 hours in summer and every 10 hours in winter and warm up the engine (Until the fan comes on ) before riding off. The bike seems sensitive to regular plug changes. I once dropped the bike into a stream- fully submerged it and even after it was dried I had problems with sudden cut outs, even 2 weeks after the dunking. After a service (new plugs) no problems. There was no water in the oil or petrol so why the cut outs remains a mystery. So first call with any problem is change the plugs.
  2. I went for a Montesa 4RT 260 as a Trails newbie although with years of riding road bikes. The only concession I have made is to increase the size of the front sprocket by 1 tooth to slow things down on the tight corners, otherwise no problems. You will be fine with a 4T unless as a newbie to motorbikes it would be best to go with a 125
  3. Simple solution in the end - new spark plug and problem solved - also had a new air filter and a good service. I was also told to start and let it run until the fan comes on before moving off. Now already for Sunday.
  4. Jimmyl - good question - everything on the bike is honda OEM.
  5. Thanks for the replies. I tried the ECU reset and the bike almost fires now - it fires maybe once then thats about it. I will order a spark plug and also check the plug for a spark. Cheers,
  6. Any good ideas on how to waterproof the electrics for a 2016 4RT. There was lots of rain today and as I use a trailer I am assuming the electrics have become waterlogged as the bike wouldn't start when I got to the trial. What is odd is that it still wont start even after the long trip home in in dry'ish weather when I expected the breeze would have dried out all the terminals. Anybody else had this problem? Cheers
