LOL but that wouldn't be a surprise. However, We both agreed that lead is bad for us and the environment to some extent but I will still contest is bad for my engine.

AVgas is not going anywhere for the next 30 years minimum. You can copy and post random "lethal" articles online but the bottom line goes way deeper than our back and forth argument and environmental ideologies !! I suggest starting with a deeper understanding and more knowledgeable article such as this 3 part in depth review by Paul.

and that I completely understand! it does pollute and it is harmful, but to twist that and create a narrative that it is bad for your engine is simply a lie. You can make an engine run much smoother by simply switching the E10 to 100ll. Instantly, like it just came from a shop! I have been using avgas on everything I own now except my car (because of catalytic converter) with absolute no issues! I used avgas on my last montesa for the entire time I owned it. This new Montesa, I was using non ethanol but is only 91octane and the bike calls for 95+ the issue I had was due to a defective fuel pump. The question lingers: Why they still use Avgas in aviation?

if you explain to me why it doesn't foul plugs on airplanes, I might consider changing my mind! being illegal makes it more fun. lol

It's funny how your article blames valve sticking on the lead but in the end of the article when they mention :"how to prevent the valve sticking" they don't even mention to stop using lead. lol they completely change the subject to "temperature" so basically they re saying is a temperature problem and not lead problem! thanks for the article though

I can perhaps start a new thread in the general trials forum but just a few pointer before I do: Have you ever asked your self why they took lead out of every single fuel but did not take it off aviation fuel??? safety is priority over pollution so they made exceptions for aviation. if you buy pretty much any single person light aircraft in the market today it will come with a bombardier engine (Rotax). that same exact engine goes in all seadoos and skidoos in the market. Identical engine. somehow on seadood and skidoos manual will say Unleaded gas only!! but all aircrafts will say low lead gas only!! the internet is full of article of how lead will potentially damage your engine but real scientific articles will explain how lead acts like an extra protection to your engine. for the last almost 10 years I have used strictly aviation gas in everything I own including weed eaters and lawn mowers (pure avgas for 4 strokes and mixed for 2 strokes). I have seen my friends having carburetor problems over and over with ethanol filled gas as my stuff runs always flawless. I had to take flying lessons few years ago just so I could become and airport member and have access to gate and fuel pump inside of the airport! I truly believe on leaded gas and I know I am poluting but that's a different subject. To say that 100ll gas damages engines is just buying in to the narrative.

NEW update (final post) Problem solved! ended up not being electrical. after stripping my harness and hitting another wall, I finally decided to call the Montesa USA importer. Martin is a true Gentleman and carry me through the issue in a matter of minutes. I did indeed have a "HOT START" issue caused by a defective fuel pump. The 2022 models are experiencing that issue. The good news is Honda is while aware and even has full warranty on that. the best solution however is to upgrade the pump to a Quantum brand fuel pump. Thank You so much all of you that have helped. This community is very knowledgeable and you guys never disappoint!!

"It wouldn't be the first time the lanyard cause all the problems" Man, aren't you right?? Found continuity on the lanyard with it disconected. Just traced it down and it goes to the main harness. I have 2 oprions: strip down the main harness with a diagram and find the short or swap the entire harness. Waiting on an answer from Dennis with a peice on new harness. But so glad I found the problem. Now everything makes sense. The bike started with weak ignition thus fouling plugs and then the short got worse and bike just doesnt start at all. My only remaini g question is: Could anything else in the electrical system create continuity in that wire other than a bad wire itself?? Thanks a lot all of you 🙏🙏

The little decompressor you talking about has an adjustment or runs off the exhaust valve adjustment? The manual calls for 0.012 to 0.001 for the exhaust valve. I was at 0.011 and went down to 0.005 just to be more in the middle of the range. Samething with intake valve 0.005 to 0.001. I m at 0.003. Any idea how to check or eliminate the kill switch? Other than continuity at first connection. That seems normal Thank you.

Checked valve adjustment again! Spot on w specs. Started the bike and idle was around 1600 really struggling almost stalling. I adjusted the idle to 1900 and ran great did a few laps on parking lot went up and down the road then when I shut off, wouldnt start again. Tried to reset ecu, swapped plug and nothing. Just gave up for the day. Starting to think I have some electrical issues (weak ignition) or throtle body issues? Who knows! I m adjusting the idle on throtle body screw. Did not touch the adjustment on throtle cabe. My throtle cable is at zero. There is a lil slack on the tube. (I guess thta's where suppose to be right?) The nearest Honda dealer is 1:30 hours away. Hoping someone can carry me through the next step of trouble shooting! Or make me a nice offer on the bike. Lol. Thanks again guys

my idle is between 1800 and 1900 when cold started, it will start around 1600 and pick up after I do have a tach meter on the bike but I was told between 1800 and 1900 idle should I go higher? I do reset ECU often

Fouled a plug in every ride last three rides and 3 plugs today! Bike starts well after new plug and runs great. I can rev through the whole range without hesitation and does not lack power! When I shut the bike off, it wont start very easy. Like 3 to 4 kicks and then it might start or just foul again. Running the stock plug cr6eh9 Notes: Plug is always extremely dry with black sutt adjusted valves recently but it did not resolve issue. Found considerable amount of engine oil today in the air box. Supposedly normal? Before this all started, I was riding one day and when I tried shut off, bike kept running even though the lanyard was disconected. It died after 10 seconds or so. With my very small knoledge in 4 stroke engines, I m assuming is running rich or struggling for air! Also someone said it could be a poor ignition. I m going to use a higher octane gas as the bike calls for 95+ I was running 91 non ethanol. Might try 100ll (avgas with a hoter plug) Any advices or pointers??? What else could I check and how? Also note. I do let bike ticker till fan kicks in every cold start. That should not be my problem. Thanks in advance. I have a Ryan Young's class to attend on 8/26 and really want to get to the bottom of this issue asap. Cheers

Nah. There are plenty of companies that would do the broadcast free of charge just to sell the live stream and make money on it!! As a matter of fact in other sports, companies bid on the broadcast! The event been sold out for while, thats not an excuse either!! When the dude from Jitsie went in front of the cameras at the warmuo area, he literaly said: " we are not broadcasting the main event live. There was a lot of controversy on social media ... bla bla bla!" I got kicked out of the main trials group on FB for pointing a finger at Doug and complaining about this! Surprised I havent been blocked here!! For the records I never disrespected anyone, quite the opposite, I was called names as soon as I said his event is as phony as his wheelie record!!! Thats just my opinion and I will argue until someone proves me wrong!!! I KNOW i hurt a lot of colorful feelings when I bashed Doug Lampikin.

I bet you there are thousands of riders out there that wish they could just go online and watch the world rounds live and etc... They just don't waste time bitching about it. We all know Trials is just a small bubble kind of sport but you can promote something without showing it, otherwise it's just a group of friends riding together

absolutely he is! but as a public figure and athlete I do believe he is fully capable of handling criticism as well! Not that he will ever read my threads anyways. when it comes to Trials, I m just dirt on his shoes and deservedly so. Still wont stop me from wishing our sport had better coverage for the fans

I agree and disagree! I have bought every single Xtrial event since I started riding. Truthy is the only competition that promotes the sport. the GP is more like a joke, and that I blame on FIM but this time unfortunately I have to put the blame on Douggie

This guy claims he promotes the sport and won't even broadcast his mega indoor event that has been on the makes for months! Probably gonna hurt a lot of feeling here but that's just fine! As a trials fan, I feel sad that one of the biggest names in our sport, does so little to promote the sport that gave him everything he has! No excuses, we live in a digital world of facebook live, tiktok and etc... If the dude that has all sorts of connections can't figure out how to hire a company to live cast a small motorcycle event, He is either super incompetent or he is only in for his personal gain!
