We saw Alan Cox with his Panther Stroud regularly in the Talmag and the Arbuthnot, here he is enjoying a 1980s Talmag on a fine but chilly January morning on the Surrey heathland.
Enjoy.
I remember Alan Cox and his Stroud saw him at many events in the Kent, South East area. Great photos of him in typically enthusiastic action.
Hm, I remember before helmets were compulsory someone local wearing an ice hockey helmet for its lightness. Hose riding helmet, Mick Andrews? Miners helmet, Martin Lampkin?
We've stopped sending Christmas and birthday gifts to a relative in Ireland
I know this is not trials related but we have experienced the same sending stuff to relatives in Europe costing them to receive it, embarrassing. rant over.........
Or just go to a friendly / educated test station and save the hassle 😎
Agreed, had all this back in the day. Luckily a club member was a tester and it was common knowledge to take your bike to him. Otherwise it'd fail on silly things due to other testers lack of knowledge.
Yes a brilliant book of local lad to me years ago. Although a top sports man found a niche and succeeded against the odds in later life when others had retired. It`s only when you read something like this you realise all the struggles. Touching that his personality and loyalty, a rare thing these days held him back. Seems to have no regrets. A good read.........
