  1. I have a DC lightweight trailer, but slightly concerned at the sharp angle iron bits where the tyres sit, especially when compressed with tie downs.  Has anyone modified theirs to help with this? Im thinking either fill gaps with ply, or chop up and old tyre to cover the sharp bits?

Any hot tips for tie downs too? Other than the usual round the bars/clamps and foot pegs? Might try a ‘tyre down’ for the rear tyre.

  2. It's more that the clutch isn't engaging nicely, the lever seems to pulling the inner cable across a ridge rather than a nice straight run to the outer cable/adjuster.   They are defo coming off, my clutch is a lot heavier than a friends TY which is all the same apart from the levers

  3. I carry these in the bumbag - https://www.cyclerepublic.com/skabs-bike-tube-peel-and-stick-patches.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyqOHseiJ2wIV14XVCh0sxAIQEAQYAiABEgKbk_D_BwE work just as well as the above ones, but no need to faff around with glue etc, just peel and stick over the hole.  But for a big event like the Manx I would carry a front tube with me too, because you can get away with putting a front in the rear in an emergency.  Have a few spare tubes in the van and you should be fine I'd say.

I recently put together a bumbag for the TY, as I have another one that I use for my modern enduro bike.  The CO2 cartridge type air pumps (get 25g cartridges if you can find them) are great too!

  4.  @patauf Nice, I have the RD350 rubber on its way, I was going to play with boost bottles to see if I can actually feel a difference, so might try and get a DT125LC one from ebay to try!

What else have you done? Mono Forks? Something crazy on the front brake? Airbox? Which carb is it?  Clutch cable?

  5. Excellent, really looking forward to it! Managed to end up with rider number 1 too (probably the first and last time I get that number!) Looks like no one entered twinshock hard for the road route, tempting to go up a class for the challenge!

  6. To be honest, my only concern is for the road work - even just trundling along at 30mph will make your eyes stream.   I think Ill go down the saftey specs route for now.....

Good point on the weight, 1200g is as heavy as both my full face enduro helmet and my road bike helmet!

Are there any lighter helmets with an integrated visor?

  7. I'm going to do the IOW two day next weekend, and I've signed up to do the road route.

I have an Airoh TTR helmet currently, which doesn't have a slide out visor.  I'm considering picking up a Hebo Zone 5 for £85 to use when I do more road work as it has the visor integrated.

Do most people just use MX/Enduro goggles (I have plenty of them already)?  Seems like a right PITA to me...

  8. Yeah I know, trees work, lay it down etc etc, regardless I'd like to get the stand operational.  Welding a bit in is the obvious, but its going to hand way past the end of the swing arm, so anyone put a bend in?  Looking for photos please
