Well, I finally got the bike running OK. Had to fit a new injector which seems to have cured the problem and all is ok again. Big thanks to Nick at Vertigo UK for all the help.

Hi all, I have recently rebuilt my '18. Long story short, i got it running and idling nice last week, still bedding in a new piston and newly plated barrel so was just running it on the stand for 5 minutes or so at a time to go through heat cycles. Anyway, it has now started running really lean and is not wanting to run right at all. I'm thinking that the injector may have oiled up a bit? is that possible? I dont want to have to take the engine out again so any ideas? Have been running 50ml to every 5ltr. Think i'll reduce that having read all the comments above. Cheers

Managed to find a slightly longer screw as there was enough thread left at the bottom of the hole. Just needed a washer and tightened up nicely. Just need to fill her back up with oil but should be good to go.

Mine has recently started weeping from the primary shaft cover. I bought the bike second hand and it looks like this has happened before and 'repaired' with silicone. The only problem is, the previous owner/who ever did the job was a bit rough when putting the bottom screw back in and stripped the threads. I cannot get any purchase to tighten it at all so its gone from a slight weep of oil to full blown leak. I have also noticed the the hole has been elongated slightly too. Any suggestions on a repair? Will a thread insert work or is the hole too small? Anyone used Loctite Form-A-Thread? I will upload a picture later on.
