  1. i use unleaded, motul oil and 80:1 and had no probs on both my monts 98 and 2000, and get no knocking or noises!! thats down to poor carb setup!

would also agree that its a 99 bike you have! 98 had silver sorks

  2. I have a 2002 montesa 315r and I think that they are still very smooth and easy to cope with. You can make them a lot sharper by lifting the throttle needle up one notch.

    er its not that simple!!

  3. Sandifords advised me to use Silkolene SRG75, that i replace every seven outings (ie, Trial meetings or practice sessions).

Also the Montesa/HRC clutch packs are terrible, so once it starts to drag and/or squeal replace with "Haven's" (also known as "Sureflex") pack.

    Gaff.

thats the oil i uesed in my 98 bike, had to have new clutch as post above yours with elf 2000 still on original clutch ..no drag .......no squeal

  4. Just sent him a fax as well.

Must be doing well if he can afford to miss out on sales.

Needs a decent web site, or at least email details on his web site. Always seems a shame to me when company's have half hearted web sites.

I suppose some people like to stay small and if he's working full pelt no need to change anything.

    he may be on holiday?

  5. so now you have totally lost me

you ask will a fuel filter restrict fuel (you say you know it will when its got crap in it) and you want to know is it worth fitting one ;)

but if 1/ you fit one it stops the said crap getting onto the carb and blocking jets etc! 2/ clean it regularly and it "wont" bung up! with said crap.

so either you fit one clean it and have no probs, don't fit one and get crap in carb which is harder to clean out etc.3/ dont put the crap in your tank!

so by my reckoning you already know the merits??

"You seem to have maken an art form out of stating the obvious!!

I was stating the FACT that, when clogged, they will restrict flow"

    hmm you were saying

  6. spoke to an East mids official ans its our region and once you become an intermediate you can not drop down, but club permitting you can ride any route!

once you are over 40 you can then do that!

reason for doing it is to stop an inter riding as over 40 for 2 years dropping to novice and then cleaning up!

  7. Plonker of the week award goes too..................

They WILL restrict the flow when clogged

Have another read of my first post and you will see that the reason for fitting one in the first place is to avoid cr*p in the carb.

    [/qoute]

no deff not me as i would not be daft enough to ask it the filter would block up when i got crap in it! , AS a mechanic of 20 years i would know its better to have the crap trapped in a filter then going into the carb/jets/engine and causing damage/running concerns.

Then again im not daft enough to get the crap in the tank to start with!!!

As has been stated you either replace them regulary or clean them, think of a air filter, that would bung up with crap if you did not clean it so do you take yours out and leave it out in fear of it restricting air?

  8. They will restrict the flow when the bits from the tank clog it up, No??

Plonker of the week award goes too...........................

what the hell do you think a fuel filter is for? and where do you think the crap would end up if you had not got it fitted? oh maybe block a jet and stop the engine, never mind eh! ;)

  9. if it doesn't have one dont put one on if it was suppost to have one it would have come with it and i have found on betas that you cant have one cause the space is to small and the tubes pinch

    ROTFPIMP

Why then put fork protectors on etc?????

so your bike it TOTAL stock eh?
