The Honda ECU is a pretty clever piece of engineering and will alter the fueling to suit the temp and conditions. Don't see any need at all to mess with something HONDA has developed. If it aint broke don't fix it. A well serviced and looked after Monty will never ever let you down.

Hi, tickeover needs to be 1800rpm and if its lowered the bike will be a pig to start. The heat and atmospheric pressure will not bother the bike as that's what the ECU does and alters its own mixture to suit. Trying the easy things first, perhaps unplug the ECU and use a quality water displacing spray on the contacts. Very easy to get them damp and cause issues. Otherwise try a compression test.

John, Maybe you already know the startup procedure or maybe not. The 4rts need NO throttle to start, and also must have a tickover of approx 1800rpm. If this has been lowered the bike will be a pain to start. Holding the throttle wide open and kicking twice resets the ECU and may also help with your issue. Hope this helps

The Supersoft is a very forgiving bike and WONT pull your arms out, just keep to the easy stuff and you will soon explore the bikes capability. The whole 250-300 thing is a hotly debated subject but to be fair its all in the wrist on any bike from a 125cc trials to a 1000cc R1, anything misbehaves if you over gas it.
