  1. Just been reading Andy's offer of reducing the cost of advertising. It's a really generous offer from someone who already does so much for trials. We should all continue to support TC (and trials in general) as much as we can and kep it going from strength to strength! Well done and thanks Andy! :D

  2. GLAD EVERY ONE IS ENJOYING THE PHOTOS. MY DAD SCANED THEM FROM SLIDES THEN POPPED THEM ON A DISC, WHICH IN TURN HIL SORTED THEM ON TO THE COMP,SENT THROUGH TO GORDON IMRIE , WHO THEN PUT THEM ON FOR MY DAD. ALONG PROCES BUT WELL WORTH IT !! THANKS AGAIN GORDON.

WHILE IM ON ID LIKE TO WISH THE NOR

TH EAST LADS ALL THE BEST AT THE SSDT. ESPECIALLY JOHN CHARLTON,ANDREW BATTENSBY AND LEWIS PEART, AS ITS THERE FIRST ONE. CHEERS MIKE

  3. From a purely aesthetic point of view I would say unless you have a great bod - go for two pieces. There's nothing worse, from a women's point of view, than a big beer belly going round in a tight lycra one-piece! Only entertaining for so long!! Also you can mix and match tops and bottoms and get several outfits!

On a more serious note, my better half (who also used to ride enduros and tried using the same gear) says the best change he made was getting trials boots, much easier than heavy enduro-style boots.

    Hope this helps!!

    Hilly.

  4. Just got one of these jackets. The build quality seems to be very good with lots of features. There's a rear pocket, side and front pockets. The arms are detachable, it's got a quilted zip out liner and soft touch collar lining. There are also zips that can be opened for ventilation in the warmer weather (ha, ha!) It's a good sturdy construction but is also very light to wear. The rear of the jacket is slightly longer, which is a good thing. It has "Jitsie" printed on the arms and on the rear at the bottom, with rubber decals at the top rear and neck fastner. The only down side I can see is the collar is very short and will give no protection in bad weather.

Wore it at a trial for the first time today. It was a wet and muddy event and jacket was very comfortable and I stayed dry, but wore buff neck tube as the collar is short. I would certainly recommend anyone that's thinking of getting one to go for it!

    Mike.

  5. If you want to learn about riding trials you should get yourself booked onto a Steve Saunders Trials School! Not speaking from personal experience but I have been and watched and it looked like so much fun I was tempted! Why settle for anything less than the best teaching you?!

His website has a link from Trials Central - think its SES (Saunders Extreme Sport).

  6. Well done Gordon, You kept this very quiet! It couldn't have gone to a better person - very well deserved. Buy some warm gloves!! You put in such a lot of hard work with results from everywhere and photos from me and Bill, etc and get everyone interested in Trials Central. Doing all this on a Sunday evening really shows how dedicated you are to trials in general. You will be a hard act to follow next year! Hil.

  7. Build quality and reliability on the scorpa is easily as good as a mont, and an sy 250 feels much more modern + lighter to ride than a 315r..

and is bombproof, i've had shercos, monts, gassers, betas, fantics and scorpas so i've tried them all.

I've had 4 sy 250's and never had any trouble with any of them!!

and i've had 3 315r's! no trouble with the monts either.

The mont 315r is a good bike but it does feel a little bit dated to ride "10 year old technology"

try a get a ride from somebody??

ive also had two 315rs and two scorpas, and would say go for the sy,as its alot easier to ride. but both are good bikes.

  8. This is really well worth a visit. The trials area was well attended but the show organisers could have made it a bit easier for the spectators to get to the trial sections. Those that did make their way over were treated to some great entertainment by all the riders involved. Well done to everyone involved in organising and setting out the sections and bringing together some of the top riders in Scotland. Every one of the riders showed some great skill on very testing sections. Worth the visit alone to see Gary McDonald take a run at a very steep hill and then jump up the side of a portacabin to the top!!

For those of you not at a trial tomorrow it's on at Lanark from 9am! :hyper:
