what is worth it? If you want the best bike or car then thats what you want, does it save you any marks, probably not but thats not why you want it? By the same rule no manufacturer would ever produce an enhanced model, but they all do. You pays your money and you takes your choice (sic)

Well I’ve bought it now- it’s on a truck as we speak heading south.

it was used by multiple Aussie champ last year at a few rounds.  Comes with new unused rear shock, new front brake system, new barrel, new piston, refreshed forks.

im in no way anywhere near as good as this bike is, but after selling a couple of bikes lately and making a few dollars on them, it’s cost me not much at all.
I can’t wait for it to arrive.

The main difference better the 19 racing and 19 GP is the carbon airbox which is a slightly bigger volume. Also has upgraded forks with extra adjustments, interchangeable s3 cylinder head (3 possible compression settings), lighter rear wheel, renthal handlebars, better footrests and silicone hoses. I've had a few GP's (or Raga model/Factory replicas as they were formerly known) and they always seem to be better built and run better. Well worth the extra money.

    Thank you bumpy_ltd.

Seeing as it’s the last year they were 100% GG, is there anywhere I could look to see how many of them were built?   I’ve looked, but can’t see.

    thanks

  3. Howdy.

Ive sold the Sherco, now looking at a 2019 300GP.

Could someone pls tell me the difference between the GP models and Racing models pls. I’ve looked, but I can’t find any relevant info.

what are people’s thoughts on the 2019 GP??

    thank you.

I think you need to keep your head up.. Going along those balance beams, you seem to be more concerned where the bottom of the engine is, rather than keeping your inner ear semi-circular canals lined up with the horizon.

I definitely need to keep my head up more.

    Looks good Ben,

I'd also set a couple of sections that are just slightly beyond your current ability, something that you can work up to that will challenge you. Riding sections repeatedly that you can complete is good for keeping up your skill level and confidence but to improve you need to keep gradually increasing the severity (nothing too dangerous though) so as to test yourself. It also keeps you interested and gets you excited when you achieve a section you thought you never could. Most sections you can just adapt as you improve, but setting a specifically harder section gives you a goal to aim at.

I do a bit of local coaching for some beginner riders, and this approach works really well and keeps them enthused. :)

    Thanks, and good points.

I think I’ve got a bit of time on my hands to master these ones firstly- I’d love to be able to ride the balance beams at will. They’ve got me a bit flustered atm.

    Practice practice practice I guess.

Your tractor tyres, bury half the tyre upright, the rest sticking up, and lay down some a couple of feet apart to try and hop between....remember the layed flat ones need filling with soil, or they move a lot or collapse when ridden on.

  7. I looked through the forum, but couldn’t find my answer.   I can’t find an online manual either, so I ask...

    2013 or 2015 300 Factory(Gold head).

What amount of oil do these engines take, and what viscosity/weight.  I live in southern Australia, and it’s about to start getting warmer soon.

    Thsnk you.    Ben.

  8. Well, this newbie got the course building bug on the weekend.  I love cutting in new single tracks in the bush for my TE300i, and it’s looking like building trials courses will scratch my itch also.

Ive just upgraded my 04 Gasser 250 to a Sherco 300 Factory, that looks like it’s a 13 with some fancy stuff thrown on. My boy has a Gasser50 which we’ve just sold, and this week pick him up a Beta 80.

The course will no doubt evolve as time goes on- please feel free to suggest obstacles.  I’ll be picking up some tractor tyres this week- just not sure on how is the best way to set them up.

***Well that didn’t work- I couldn’t even upload a 10second vid!! Any help??

Had great luck with my daughters 06 Rev 80 Sr, should be a great bike for him..  Great bike with only ever needing standard maintenance.

Note: before running it at all I would put a fuel filter on it between the tank and the carburetor.  I am aware of at least 3 people getting small bits of debris from the tank causing some running issues on there Evo 08's.

    Thank you for that info

  10. Thanks Nick- yeah I’ve just seen it’s the same bike for quite a few years.

I listed the 50Boy for sale and it sold within 12hrs! I’ve now ordered a 2019 Evo 80, and it should arrive in a week. Looking forward to watching the lads progression on this bike- should be fun for both of us.

  11. Hi all- second post here.

Im looking at upgrading my sons bike from a GasGas50Boy to a Beta 80.

Im guessing this is how most kids go??

Would I be better looking for another brand, or the Beta is fine?

The lad is just 8, only a little fella,  has been riding his trials bike on and off for a year, and has quite a few years experience with his HuskyTC50.

    Thanks Ben

Noted formula clutch master. From 2013.

    But brake caliper seems braktec/Ajp

    Is this good?

Maybe it’s just had later rims put on it??

Are the forks etc from 2013?

  13. Hi guys- I’m new to this site, and Sherco.

ive bought what the VIN tells me is a 2013 Factory 300, but with all the research I’ve done, I’m yet to find another like it.

ive heard that Sherco has mucked up VINs in the past( this may be completely untrue??).

My Bike has a white frame, Blue(Factory logo’d) rims, Ohlins shock, Black forks with red adjusters on top, Cabestany logo’d air box cover, triple clamps with Limited Edition 147 engraved on them.  It also has a map switch LHS near radiator and black ‘bars.

Does this sound like a 2013??  It was sold to me as a 2015.

It rides fantastically so far- quite a bit different to my old Gasser TXT PRO 2004 250( thankfully!!)

Im also chasing a manual for it, but can’t find any.  The guy I bought it off said to run at 80:1 on 95RON- sound ok?

thanks guys- any helpful info would be greatly appreciated.

    Ben
