I've had an 06 for the last 10yrs and it's had one plug a tyre or 3 and chain and sprockets more than once . It's still on the original brake pads ! It's never failed to start for me , I keep threatening to update for a newer model but can't really see the point . No wonder they don't sell many as they go on and on !

    on and on

Your story sounds just like mine but i did order a new 300RR this year my 06 is still running and happy gonna try to get my wife into riding with it.   My 300rr is duein  april 26th been a long wait for it i ordered it in Oct.

  2. So where did you find your info on the question?

Its much more...low ..mid ...top end  all over the place...its much improved......so much so that they decided not to put it into any of their spec sheets/sales brochures.

The 2015 makes  a max torque figure of 23.1 Nm @5,500 rpm. The 2016 more  than the 2015..... its improved; they probably do not want to state it because the difference may scare customers.

  3. Ive ridden 2016 300rr and found that the clutch was pretty stiff i watched the owners son ride the the bike and noticed he was having arm pump as well. i've been riding my 2006 4rt since i took her out of the box i did put on a 315r master cylinder on it made it super nice. How are the new bikes don't want to just go off this one bike. if they are stiff what are riders doing for easier pulls?

  4. I rode a TRS 300RR this last weeken here in Taiwan I thought the clutch to be much stiffer to pull than my 06 montesa . The bike is light the guy that owns really like it but if i had it I would have to do something with clutch.

What do you do for such a hard pull on a TRS? I watch this guy ride hes having arm pump holding clutch shakes it out and keeps on riding i think he's around 17 so can't blame age.

  5. I rode a couple of new bikes here in Taiwan a Montesa 300RR and  a TRS 300RR both had teathers and I killed them by forgetting i was attached frankly though I liked having them on because they were not my bikes and knowing that if i made a mistake they shut off. The cost a trials bike in Taiwan is like buying a car. I like this group of riders here.

As for the guys riding there vintage bikes I don't think they should be required to that like making someone who has a 1970 hemi cuda convertible and making them put in airbags these guys have been riding these bikes for years in most cases.

Ive seen the pics and videos of the vintage riders when their bikes were not vintage, heck  they didn't even wear helmets and oh there were a whole lot more riders back then.

I was thinking about a different bike to order but after talking with friends Im staying with what i know has been a great bike I ordered 2017 300RR I can hardly wait for it to come in. They tell me I should get April 26th. Seems like a long ways off

  7. Its really simple we dont have to work on our bikes we put gas in them and ride then wash them off.  When you really set down and look at the bikes they are really well made. Next time you go to and event look around see who is working on there bikes setting jets working on a clutch mixing fuel. Also ask to ride the Montesa. Like I said earlier i took mine out of the box in 2006 i have had to replace fenders and a set of fork seals other than that gas and go

Im about to turn 55 i started riding trials in 04 started on gg 280 then went to an 05 gg im not meant to ride a 2t i rode the montesa on some of the same courses that i could not clean on my GG and cleaned on it . With fuel my bike weighs in at 164lbs  I switch ,also im not always  working on my bike i put gas in and ride .I feel the montesa is by far the best deal for the money they just dont fall apart.
