  1. Another way to hold the brake lever pivot bolt is to slip a flat head screw driver between th nut and the cast frame bottom. The angle on the blade stops the nut moving and, as long as you rotate the nut onto the blade, does not damage the nut. I use ptfe tape on this bolt, it is easily undone and does not vibrate/turn lose.

  2. You need to connect the removable tank left-hand hose joint (the left hand side near the headstock) to the frame tank movable nipple. The pipe goes round the front of the headstock. The tanks vent through the removable tank filler cap.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Yes they are great bikes!! Had one for 8 months now.

BUT do yourself a big favour take the grab rail off the rear mudguard.

Your first steep drop, lean back, hit a lump & your wedding tackle will be removed!!!

Trust me I know... said in a very high pitch voice.

I would love to see some pictures of the Betas. They sound great.

Put together a LDT Bike for the missus who is 21 in here dreams & 5+ in reality.

Basically it is a 125 Scorpa Long Ride with few bits taken off & some simple additions like extra fuel in bottle bags either side of the tank. Etrex as a speedo & direction keeper, footrests etc.

I have riden the bike a few times & it is great.

Long live trials bikes as trail bikes, small easy to ride & beg for you to look scenery of the route you ride!

  5. Looks very very similar to the 125 Yamaha engine. Bore and stroke identical. This engine is fitted to lots of bikes and is also manufactured in china by Jianshe

    YBR125 & variants

Basically, same motor as the scorpa 125, Yamaha TTR, XT & YBR. Spares shouldn't be a problem. Maybe a scorpa 125 front pipe will fit?

Interesting that Taiwan is not on the list? I know for your 163, like mine, it is badged yamaha & built in Brazil. I can also get all parts from my local dealer.

We had a "yamaha 125(copy)" stripped down for parts recently & trust me most of the parts were different. I think it was out of an AJS??? Still I hope you can fit standard Yamaha parts because I would have one tomorrow!!!!

  6. Must be wrong then. Not unusual...

However I do know for a fact they are not the same engines as the Scorpa 125 though, which are all badged Yamaha & built in Brazil...

I hope you are right because then Yamaha spare parts could be used. Just have to wait until someone strips one down.

    Cheers

  7. Had a go on one the other day. Quite nice ride, although definately very low powered.

Anybody any idea what the engine is???

    GGUK unsure.

Its not a yamaha, but could be a Motori Minarelli... If it is Chinese I would be very wary...

Spares & tuning parts a plenty for yam or minarelli, but no idea if it is a chinese build.

    Any one any idea???

  8. ...oh and take plenty of documentation the border police can be funny sometimes.

    Cheers again.

Shame, but no option on the bike front, trail or trail.

If I remember correctly we can leave the bikes on the road at the top of Naturlandia & walk to the sections.

Thanks for the tip on the paperwork. We are moving over the border into Spain at the end of the trials for a few weeks riding in the Pyrenees.

I am like a big kid going to bed & wanting the days to go quick so I can go sooner!!!

    Thanks

  9. See the start of the Andorra world round has moved from Naturlandia... shame. Looks like the paddocks are now in the town with just the sections up at Naturlandia. Anyone know of any half decent camping spots close by? Only got tent so hard standing is out!

    Cheers
