  1. I like to take the trials bike, (2004 Sherco 290), on the trails from time to time, it a blast to ride as it is so light compared to the big dirt bike. I keep wondering though, am I doing something terrible to it? This is not putt-putt-jump-over-obstacle-putt-putt-putt, but rather 4-5th gear with lots of throttle, dodging trees, jumping whoops and things for about 6-12 miles at a stretch. The motor and suspension seem to be fine afterwards, but I just wanted to check. In any case then, just how much can one abuse a modern trials bike? Thanks for your input-
  2. Dirt bikers wreck all the time, no big deal. But that mullet gave me the shivers...
  3. I sure had a good time, mud and all. Thanks much to the good folks of FTA for putting it on!

There are no semi-trucks, unless you cut one into multiple pieces. A semi-TRAILER on the other hand, is supported by its rear wheels and the front hitch, whereas a full trailer has wheels front and rear. Conan the Grammarinian strikes again!

DOH!!! The EMT's showed up just in time to use the Jaws Of Life to pull my head out of my... let's just say it wasn't pretty. Once I realized the previous owner, (I am #3), had the chain extremely floppy loose it all made sense. Getting the tensioner/spring back on was a pain at first until I found the right spots to pull on, and then it was ridiculously easy. I also have a burly exhaust spring tool which helped a lot- much easier than pliers. Many thanks again!

Am a little puzzled by the tensioner on my 2004 290. I read that the block is supposed to be 3cm away from the swingarm, but tightening the bolt seems to have no effect on its adjustment. Below is a photo of the various pieces: tensioner bits From looking at the spare parts catalog, it does not appear that I am missing anything, but with the bolt tight, the whole thing swings freely without friction. Could the spacer be too wide? Or am I being brain-dead somewhere? Many thanks for your help!
  7. Did someone park in your preferred spot? Here's what to do: Dirt Bike Television
  8. Anyone for Honda HP2? It is full synthetic and my KTM 250sx really likes it, so I have been doing a 80:1 mix for the trials bike- seems fine so far.

Just picked up a 2004 Sherco 290 to help advance my dirt bike skills the fun way. The bike while almost new, had been sitting in the previous owner
