Hi Guys, Well I am still trying to get my ebay purchase out of the garage........ but I have learnt loads of things about working on trials bikes so not all bad. Latest problem is that I cant get the front brake to work. I have bleed it using every method I can think if gravity, sryring and pressure. But nothing seems to work still very spongy.... Any ideas? Top End O Rings

Hi guys, Still trying to rebuild my ebay purchase.I have got as far as fittng the O ring on the cylinder head. One of the O rings seems to be too big and I am not sure if the dealer has got me a set for a 290cc and not the 250cc...... Does anyone know if the O rings are different for the two models? Or anyway easy way of getting the to say in place while fitting? Cheers Andy
  6. Hi Guys, Well 4 week into having my got 03 250 still not ridden it yet and its in neven more bits on the garage floor. Just need a bit of advice on oil changes. Can you use Car oil eg castrol for oil change. Also can you use engine flush on a bike? went to change the oil and all that started to come out have a very thick grey oil. Dont think the last guy had changes it in years..... cheers Andy
  7. The barrel seems to has some slight scoring so is it worth having it rebored? Got my bearing for www.simplybearings.com very cheap approx

    Just My Luck....!

Dont know if you know but you can get extractors. You drill the bolt then slow screw in the extractor which is treaded to left handed (or is it right hand...) and as you screw it in it extracts the bolt..... hope this help... cheers Andy
  9. Hi Guys, Well took your advice on the swing arm its now had all its bearing replaced and they all showed signs of wear..... So while I am waiting for my local dealer to get hold of a few bits I could'nt get of the net I have stripped down the top end. Not sure what I should be look for. The barrel looks to have some marks on it but I am not sure if they are bad or not!! Should it be unmarked and smooth? Cheers Andy

Hi Guys, Been working on my bike and have it stripped down and was wondering if its worth while taking the swing arm off and having a look at the bearings? Their does no seem to be any movement or play in them. I just bought the bike of ebay and dont think the last guy took to much care over the bike.......... Cheers Andy

    Diy Service

Hi Guys, Just bought my first trials bike a Sherco 2003 250. I was just wondering what your thought were on working on the bike myself? I am pretty handy and have had bikes before, all seems easy enought or am I kidding myself? Have a few questions the Sherco. 1. How do you check remove back brake pads? Looks like you have to remove back wheel? 2. Was think of changing all the fluids on the bike as i dont know when this was last done. Oil is easy enough except how do you go about collecting the old stuff. I am use to a bolt under the bike!!! 3. Fork oil how do you go about changing this? 4. Is it worth stripping the carb down and checking it over or if its running should I leave it alone.... 5. The air filter do you coat it in oil? 6. whats the gap on the plug? 7. is it just water in radiator? 8. any thing else I should do? Have looked on the web with no luck... Thanks for any advice cheers Andy
  15. keep see people talking about folk oil changes, and piston slapping....... I have had road bike but never 2 stroke....... If its that simple should not be a worry. How do you sort the chain tennsion out? cheers Andy
