  4. hi PeterB, yea just getting back to the charltons after a 5 week break, due to drowning my bike there, & training for a coast 2 coast bike ride. if i remember rightly, there is a single black wire coming from the coil area. so if i get a twin wire kill switch, i solder one too the black, & the other to the frame? cheers anth
  5. LOL..its a 2000 txt
  6. just removed all the lights and horn ect, the kill switch was part of the light switch assembly. i want to fit a switch, where do the wires go???
  7. the quickest way to get sorted is to visit the motorbike shop in the nearby village of Yearby. he will sort your forms, and give you a temp pass. this costs
  8. quality link mate!!! good for beginners like me
  9. its a bit of a journey for you mate, but once you have been there you wont go else where, al knows what he's talking about, and massive on shelf parts like Peterb says
  10. got the parts today, got it running, cylinder head has a bit of a weep, bit of a funny noise, sounds like the pistion is scored, not a knocking noise? will strip head off and re-seal tomorrow, drop gearbox oil.
  11. what do you mean by to late jam??? engine or gearbox seize? He and I meant that water kills the bearings. When water is left into the engine for more than a few hours it washes away the oil films and starts with its ugly game called rust. Although the engine will run properly again the rust in time will ...!!!! kill the bearings. Especially the lower end bearing will start peeling off its chrome layer. That is the why you always need to get the egine started as soon as possible to get the bearing turning in oil again, evaporating the water. Sorry to worry you but as you have not started yr engine by now, very big chance your bearings are ruined. can i change the bearings, how long before they fail, how much cost approx???
  12. it seems like im the only one on this site that doesnt have a clue how to fix my bike!!! the oil on my forks seeems to be leaking, how do i change the seals? and do they need refilling(cant find an embarressed smiley face)???
  13. dont know mate, was thinking that aswell. plug has got a good spark, so i think the electrics are ok. im only a novice with bikes, so any info appreciated!!! cheers ian

i dont think it is a split cable like his lt50 quad(you need rear brake locked on to start as you say mate). does it do something down the rear of the bike, as the rear brake is shot to bits, cable & pads, will be sorted soon as i know its worth spending the cash on, ie running!!!! i tidyed it up for a mate about 3 years ago when he bought it, his son has killed it for 3 years, no maintenence!!! is the 3 way switch on the bars in this order? off run start thanks for your help chaps

    Pw50!

I know its not a trials bike, but my 5 year old has got to start somewhere!!! anyway, got hold of it for free, needs a few bit & bobs, but my main problem is that the kickstart wont engage properly. 9/10 times it will just fly straight round without grabbing. if you tip the bike to the side, it sometimes engages, & the bike will start. any ideas anyone???

ive been using 75ml of tt to 5l of fuel, seems a bit smoky sometimes. what do you use? cheers
  24. cheers tomskiY, we tried all ways today!!! even the bike up the wall like you said, but trying to work the fluid from the resovoir to the caliper, hoping gravity would help us! the best we got was a slight grip of the disc from the pads. a mate is going to have a try tonight (good road bike mechanic). if he fails, i will give your method a go.
