Well personally I'm none the wiser but for the avoidance of any doubt this wasn't the Bon Accord Club who are based in Aberdeen. Naturally as any Scotsman knows, Aberdonians are far too mean to give away free stuff!
I would have a look for your two local clubs which are the Inverness and District MCC and here in Aberdeen the Bon Accord MCC. Join either or both and you'll soon find out where you can and can't ride and make some new friends into the bargain. BAMCC website is www.bamcc.co.uk
Hi Mark, hopefully I can answer your question with some authority as I have and use a Canon 7D for shooting trials and other bike sports. Great camera which will give great shots in just about any conditions, autofocus works well and when all else fails you can pop up the flash and annoy the riders. I would have told you to go and buy this camera but about four months ago I bought a 5D MKii which has a full frame sensor and well wow! The quality of the pictures from the 5D just blew me away, even when the light dips you can ramp up the iso to 3200 and still see no noise and although the 5D "only" has nine af points it still has more accurate focusing than the 7D. Only reason to buy the 7D would be to save abit of cash but if not buy a 6D and revel in the quality of your images. How about this for a thought, you can buy a good 5D MKii from evil bay for about a grand!
Ask and ye shall receive. For all the peeps that asked today here are the galleries from todays trial. www.aslq88.dsl.pipex.com/lash09/ Great day out, great weather, new route system seemed good, large entry what more could you ask for. One question though, are twinshocks the new "in thing" in Scottish Trials ?
Thanks for the positive replies gents. Always nice to get feeback especially positive feedback. John drop me an e-mail at bill@fintrayfineframing.com and I'll see what I can sort out for you.
Depends on your definition of reaonable I suppose but have a look at the range of dedicated slide/negative scanners made by Plustek. They start at around the
Well John you really are a fountain of knowledge . Met Mr Ickx once at Goodwood and he was a really top bloke. I stand corrected on the number of his Le Mans 24 victories. Any other famous faces ever ridden in the SSDT I wonder ?
That's a lot of helpers there John. Sorry I missed it. One question though. Please tell me that the Jacky Ickx listed is not the same one who used to race F1 cars and who won the Le Mans 24 hour race on no less than five separate occasions ?
Well at least there seems to be some very good news on the horizion for everyone going to the west coast this year. According to this article Midgies on the BBC News website the midge population this year has been drastically reduced by the heatwave. Maybe this year I won't come back looking a big red blob, unless of course it's my suntan.
Hey Guys, What's white and red and goes Beep, Beep, Beep ? Give Up.
That'll be the open top England Team bus reversing back into it's garage.
PS It was like living in Portugal round here last night, never heard so many cheers !! Oh and how many BRITISH players are still playing at Wimbledon ?
Might be worth your while looking on Ebay. I have seen some very nice EOS 10d's going for less than your budget. I think mine has now taken over 50,000 shots in 3 years and apart from the odd sensor clean it has been absolutely perfect. A bit more substantial and solid when compared to the 350D IMHO.
Thanks Flash just my luck. It still seems like a bit of a secret meeting though. Does no-one know the start time or what happens on Saturday ? Is it just practice or do they do the first lap of the competition. How far is it to walk to the sections or are they all miles in the hills ? Ah so many questions, still I suppose I could always go to the bike racing at Knockhill instead. Easy to find starts at 9am and finishes after the last race.
Does anyone have any information on this weekends British round being run by the Lochaber club ? I checked their website yesterday and it said details to follow. Anyone know where and when and what happens on Saturday so I can justify an overnight trip ?
If anybody out there is still interested I did get my Lightjet print made by MPS Photographic in Newcastle. As you can see from the photograph the print was made up from a few indivdual photos. It did cost just over
