Good Idea Frenchie, I have been denied acess to the French net, because, it is French!
I have just caught up with your thread, sounds great, if Mr Greeves is up for it maybe we can get Big John involved and Woody. It would be perfect for my triumphant return! Perhaps i could be assistant C of C?

Feetup,
Sorry for the delay in replying. My Maj is an over bored 320. I was not suggesting extra flywheel weight was a good idea but......I think lightening quick throttle response (like the first 240 Fantics and some of the rotax, enduro based motors that required two head gaskets etc.) is not always beneficial if the classic sections match the vintage of the Bikes (and riders in my case!) Plus, I did used to ride in Cumbria, North Yorks and North Lancs where annual rainfall is at a premium.

Call me old fashioned Gents, but, the must have been a good reason for Mr Maj. to torture the standard Yam crank with hideous fly wheel weights. The Beamish had the same I think? My Maj. for example has a huge non standard fly wheel. I expect the response is not up to Fantic spec at the bottom end but if you get into limited traction situations you can back off and the fly wheel will carry you through. .....I think! Also, please dont drill holes in any proper Majestys, just go on a diet.

Frenchie! Your translation skills are required.

Count me in Frenchie, I hear the wine wine lake in your neck of the woods is worth a try? Not too sure about these 'new age' twinshockers flying to events but it would be excellent to see a good Brit entry. I am sure it is the year of a mighty triumph for a Majesty.....or a Beamish, Seeley or even a Whitehawk!!! Those Spanish marques were never that good....were they? (only jesting)

Gents, Sorry to go back to this old item, I have just seen Mr Feet ups reply which is all good info but I seem to remember Mr samb saying the factory Majesty 320's that were over bored had slotted back plates?
-
Good Point Frenchie, Its only a bit of jealousy on my part, I need your Majesty!! I suppose I should wind my neck in anyway as I have your old front end on my Majesty!
-
Hi Pitley, I knew what you meant but perhaps worded my post badly. I am a big Majesty/Twinshock fan. I do not mean this as a criticism or a complaint just an interesting topic. I just wonder how far we should be allowed to go with modifications to our already excellent bikes and then expect to be allowed to ride in a specific class originally created for bikes and technology of a certain era. It is a huge grey area and personally I do not care, I just enjoy meeting or communicating with like minded enthusiasts.

Lee,
I wish! Except for the ridiculous boost bottle it looks better than new. They were lovely bikes in their day. What part of Germany are you from?
-
Gentlemen, There is a superb looking Whitehawk 200 come up on foul E-Bay.

Dear Greeves,
I used to ride a 198-b in the Schoolboy A class national championship. It was supplied by Sapphire motorcycles in Cumbria. I still have the original handbook, tools and bumbag. I also have many pictures if that would help?

Well done Westy,
We all tend to forget how much we owe to those heros that saved us from Hitlers tyranny. In its own way it is a tribute to those men that these old Arfields are open to a new generation of public for recreation of any kind. Thankfully the great mans (WC) words came to nothing and we did not plunge into a new Dark Age. Remember the 11th, it is important.

Excellent idea Frenchie, I am also exciled in the Republic and would love to see some of the Guys over here with their Majestys, after all, they are the pinacle of twin shock development and the French Classic scene is huge ,any kind of exotica and proper enthusiasts are welcomed. It is good to see.
I will be joining Frenchie shortly in the French national series, two 320 Majestys, the French like three for a team...............?

I have just completed the rebuild of my 320 Yellow framed Majesty. I was very suprised at the huge gap between 4th gear and top. I was wondering if this is normal? Any info would be welcome. How do I post a picture on this forum? I would like to show her off!!!
-
Thanks Andy,
I have been assuming the carb is not worn, It has not been used for sixteen years. I have not checked the timing, hoping to treat it to electronic ignition so I was just relieved when it fired up. I will check the timing and treat it to a carb service kit........anybody know the correct jet sizes?
Sorry for being thick, but could the rattle come from the thing trying to fire too soon (run backwards) on low tick over?
-
One more thing I forgot! She seems very noisy on the top end at very low tick over, and vibrates the whole frame ,with a few revs she seems to settle and sounds sweet.
-
Dear All,
I am looking for help again! Could anbody tell me a good starting point for thr mixture screw on my Majesty 320, I have just fired her up after an extensive rebuild and she only seems happy with half to threequarters of a turn out, is this ok or should i start looking for an error in the rebuild? I am running a very strong (25-1) oil mix in the first tank full as the bike has not been run for 16 years but she did start second kick!
-
Many thanks to you both for the info, My Maj is nearly ready to go after 16 years in bits! I will try and post some pictures if I can work out how to!
-
I am struggling to find the correct torque figure for 320 Majesty head nuts, any ideas? Also, how long should the rear shocks be (original spec.) for a 320 Maj? One last thing, which are the best new shocks for my bike? Thanks in advance.
-
Gents, this may have been covered but years ago my 250 Maj had a similar problem, it turned out to be moisture between the outer and inner shield of the ht lead, I only discovered it whilst changing the plug cap.
-
I have just bought a 1977 Ty 125 off Swiss e-bay (Ricardo). It is very tidy but totally gutless! Are there any quick fixes that can be done at home to liberate a few extra horses? I wonder if it was maybe restricted for use as a learner bike?
-
Thanks Guys, It is all very confusing! The last Majesty I had was a chrome framed 250 I did not realise they came in so many variations. Can anyone help with my frame number? It is 810786.
-
could some body help me find rings for my 320 yellow Majesty I am doing up? I am a new member. I am English but now live in France. I did a lot of Competition as a Schoolboy in the UK (1979-1983) Including the ACU National series. I was lucky enough to have quite a selection of Majestys and Whitehawks to ride at the time due to my involvement with the T+MX editor and the Newton and district Trials club that was run by Big Wim Harrison who was the Guardian of Kevin Bleasdale (sadly no longer with us)who was sponsered by John Shirt.
Back to the question! My Majesty has a Piston size of 81.3mm that would make it 5th over size RT360 (if the is such a thing) Any ideas? Also, I need a side stand or one to copy and a Exaust guard. HELP
