  1. Good Idea Frenchie, I have been denied acess to the French net, because, it is French! I have just caught up with your thread, sounds great, if Mr Greeves is up for it maybe we can get Big John involved and Woody. It would be perfect for my triumphant return! Perhaps i could be assistant C of C?
  2. Feetup, Sorry for the delay in replying. My Maj is an over bored 320. I was not suggesting extra flywheel weight was a good idea but......I think lightening quick throttle response (like the first 240 Fantics and some of the rotax, enduro based motors that required two head gaskets etc.) is not always beneficial if the classic sections match the vintage of the Bikes (and riders in my case!) Plus, I did used to ride in Cumbria, North Yorks and North Lancs where annual rainfall is at a premium.
  3. Call me old fashioned Gents, but, the must have been a good reason for Mr Maj. to torture the standard Yam crank with hideous fly wheel weights. The Beamish had the same I think? My Maj. for example has a huge non standard fly wheel. I expect the response is not up to Fantic spec at the bottom end but if you get into limited traction situations you can back off and the fly wheel will carry you through. .....I think! Also, please dont drill holes in any proper Majestys, just go on a diet.
  4. Frenchie! Your translation skills are required.
  5. Count me in Frenchie, I hear the wine wine lake in your neck of the woods is worth a try? Not too sure about these 'new age' twinshockers flying to events but it would be excellent to see a good Brit entry. I am sure it is the year of a mighty triumph for a Majesty.....or a Beamish, Seeley or even a Whitehawk!!! Those Spanish marques were never that good....were they? (only jesting)

    Majesty Wont Run

Gents, Sorry to go back to this old item, I have just seen Mr Feet ups reply which is all good info but I seem to remember Mr samb saying the factory Majesty 320's that were over bored had slotted back plates?

    Ty 250 Mono

Good Point Frenchie, Its only a bit of jealousy on my part, I need your Majesty!! I suppose I should wind my neck in anyway as I have your old front end on my Majesty!

Hi Pitley, I knew what you meant but perhaps worded my post badly. I am a big Majesty/Twinshock fan. I do not mean this as a criticism or a complaint just an interesting topic. I just wonder how far we should be allowed to go with modifications to our already excellent bikes and then expect to be allowed to ride in a specific class originally created for bikes and technology of a certain era. It is a huge grey area and personally I do not care, I just enjoy meeting or communicating with like minded enthusiasts.

    Whitehawk

Lee, I wish! Except for the ridiculous boost bottle it looks better than new. They were lovely bikes in their day. What part of Germany are you from?

    Whitehawk

Gentlemen, There is a superb looking Whitehawk 200 come up on foul E-Bay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1982-Yamaha-whitehaw...1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. For info, It was a 5 speed.
  12. Dear Greeves, I used to ride a 198-b in the Schoolboy A class national championship. It was supplied by Sapphire motorcycles in Cumbria. I still have the original handbook, tools and bumbag. I also have many pictures if that would help?
  13. Well done Westy, We all tend to forget how much we owe to those heros that saved us from Hitlers tyranny. In its own way it is a tribute to those men that these old Arfields are open to a new generation of public for recreation of any kind. Thankfully the great mans (WC) words came to nothing and we did not plunge into a new Dark Age. Remember the 11th, it is important.
  14. Excellent idea Frenchie, I am also exciled in the Republic and would love to see some of the Guys over here with their Majestys, after all, they are the pinacle of twin shock development and the French Classic scene is huge ,any kind of exotica and proper enthusiasts are welcomed. It is good to see. I will be joining Frenchie shortly in the French national series, two 320 Majestys, the French like three for a team...............?
