  1. Thanks for the reply Hoggle, I'm sure there would probably be people willing to kick the bike up for me but my embarrassment & pride would somehow stop me from asking... especially if I'm constantly stalling it!! I've simply had to put it down to being a lesson learned. I've had the problem for a long time now but had refused to let it stop me doing what I wanted. I guess sometimes what your body is telling you just have to listen to. I've been thinking of taking up Tiddly Winks but I'm worried now that I'll end up taking my eye out!! Regards HUNTER
  2. Thanks everyone for your advice. I did buy the 05 250 GASGAS but sadly since getting it have been unable to ride it! I'm unable to kickstart the damn thing due to problems with my hips!! Great hey. I've boughtg it and its sat in the garage from the day it was delivered till this day. Should anyone be wanting to get one I've got a lovely looking machine now available for sale. I'm five mins off junction 22 of the M1 (Markfield, Leics). If interested please give me a call on 07712 132201. Regards HUNTER
  3. Went to the Dirt Bike Show on Sunday at Stoneleigh, Warks. Not overly impressed or excited with the Trials stuff, the show would appear to cater more for motox. I saw very little that I'd have classed as a bargain, I went on the Sunday hoping for some super deals, maybe I left too early. I did find a stand displaying a nice pair of Sidi Trial Courier boots. When I asked the chap on the stand the price I gulp a little, then when I got my breath (and nerve) back I said I'd have a pair. I was then told they weren't for sale and were for display only!! Well the credit card got saved a hammering at the time though hopefully not for too long. Can anyone advise me as to where, other than eBay, I can get my hands on a pair, preferably in the Leicester area, so that I may try before I buy. Many thanks HUNTER
  4. I've just got myself a GasGas, admittedly it's my first trials bike but the comments made re the build quality I've heard before and I recently made a posting querying what bike to buy. The GasGas came out just as favourable as any other make. If the build quality was as poor as I'd heard GasGas wouldn't have i) the amount of sales they have ii) top riders using them as no-one rides c**p by choice especially when someones making a living riding one. I used to ride road bikes and I loved my Ducati's, beautiful bikes, beautiful sound and superb to ride. Most people seem to ride rice burners and used to slate Ducati for the build quality. I had two 748's and neither ever let me down. I guess what I'm trying to say is what one persons loves someone else will hate and it all really does come down to personal preference. Best of luck with your choice HUNTER
  5. Just to finish of the topic/query properly I ended up with a 2005 GasGas 250. Thanks to all for the help. HUNTER
  6. My thanks to everyone for the advice. Kindest regards HUNTER
  7. Excellent gjbiker, did you find one much easier to live with than the other? What sort of mechanical know how do you have i.e. for someone with none (me ) is one going to be any easier to learn on than the other? Cheers, HUNTER
  8. Hi paul w, Thankyou, received your pm, appreciated. What a great website this has turned out to be, glad I found it now. HUNTER
  9. Thanks stixnstonesbrokemybones, I suppose thats another to go in the melting pot then though I still feel a leaning to either the Gas Gas or the Scorpa as they were the favourites to start with. Once again advice gratefully received. HUNTER
  10. Many thanks billycraig. I do like the Gas Gas just didn't want to go and give myself unnecessary problems with dodgy frames etc. Why the frame would be any more fragile than any other trials bike I don't know, maybe a case of Chinese Whispers, thanks again HUNTER
  11. Hello, can anyone help! I'm looking to get my first trials bike and I had been very keen on the Gas Gas 250. Clearly they are a popular bike, though there doesn't appear to be a very wide choice when it comes to trials bike manufacturers! My concern with the Gas Gas is that I've heard that they can be more prone to problems than other manufacturers. I've heard that both frame and forks are 'weaknesses'. Please can anyone give me some experienced information to assist me with my final choice when it comes to splashing out the 'readies'. I'm looking to be spending around
