  1. Does any one know what the tolerance is on the valve gap, in the manual it only says that the gap should be Inlet 0.10mm and Exhaust 0.15mm, but what is the tolerance on these gaps

I had this problem with my 06 290. it turned out to be the stator coil that was faulty.
  3. i tock it back to the dealer he had it for a week, i have now got it back he said he but a new ignition on it, i am not well at moment so i will not get out on it this weekend but one thing that the ignition helped is it was very hard to start when cold but it now starts second or third kick. i have tryed it every day from i got it back and it starts all the time now
  4. The rad was not too full and when i check when i got back to the van there was very little water in. i took the screw out on the side of the barrel and nothing came out.
  5. The fan seam to be working OK.
  6. i rode my new 09 3.2 4t for the first time in a trial at the weekend and after the first lap it over heated and blow the water out od the overflow. when the bike was going well on the first lap it was very very powerfull. but the fan was nearly going all the time. has any one had this problem with the 4t bike
  7. Thanks Cope I had sent Ron an email and he sent me a picture of the brass bit. it was the way i had it in and i must be getting used to the starting it now as it started second kick. Thanks you to every one on this thread
  8. Cope I did not think there was any thing in the brass tube when i screwed the jet out the sping and the bit fell out, i think i have it in right but just wanted to make sure.
  9. thank you for all your help, Do any of you know what the float height should be i know the 2t is about 19mm is the 4t the same as i think the problem is the bike is flooding, when i am kicking it over there is fuel coming out of the carb. I now can get it started a lot quicker 8-9 kicks and i think once the carb is sorted it will start even better. In the sps carb the main jet screws into a brass tube which screws into the carb inside this tube there is a sping and a wee brass bit with holes in it, does any one know what way this goes in there is four holes on one side and one hole the other side, which side does the spring go against
  10. i tock the tensioner apart this morning and found that the spring was broken, i will take it back to the dealer and see what he says thanks for your help
  11. if it does not get any better i think i will go back to the 290. it start 2nd kick all the time when warm, but when it is cold it will take about 5-7 minites to start, and to get it started you have to hold the throttle full open. i give up, i will try it this week end and see if it get any better as i only have about 4-5 hours on it now
  12. Higgy How did you retensioned the timing chain spring, or did you replace it with a new spring
  13. Built the bike last night the bigger pilot made a big difference bike runs well now will try it at a trial this weekend
  14. Thanks for all your help, I tock the air box off last night and found a screw in the bottom of the box and bits of black plastics, I cleaned the carb and airbox, and fitted a 45 pilot jet instead of the standard 42 has it seamed to be running lean, i will get it built up tonight and see if that makes a difference.
  15. another problem i tryed to start it the way you said to kick it i now can get it started in 6-9 kick but when it starts it only stays going for a couple of minites and then stops. i have tryed screwing the idleing screw in to fasten the tick over but it still does the same thing
