  1. <_< i prefer gas gas pros, had an 02 200 sherco, and now got an 05 290 and hate it! look for main bearing rattle leaking tanks, the o3 has a black cylinder head and clutch casing if am correct. the thing i dont like about shercos is the fork angle, ride of them, and down think they as smooth as a gas gas and not as reliable. but theres plenty people out there who swear by em.
  2. tryed taking the flywheel weight off? my mate took his off his 04 rev 3 but dont no if his was a 250/270 and if yours deffo has one on, taking this off will create a more zippy feel,

  3. cool, i ride your dads old 280 and thats set up really well so no doubt the 250's once they go in the workshop will work a lot better, than stock, if they need to be, i liked the look of the 280 you have in your showroom a piece of art!!!

  4. been looking on here, and a lot of people are saying pros need to be kept on top of a lot compared to other bikes, so what maintainence should i do my bike i clean my filter every ride. how often should my gearbox oil be changed? and what oil should i use? ;) thanks

  5. ride a 280 pro with a kehin carb on, slow throttle and i lurve it, ride it really slow speeds and low rpms and it just pulls like a train, its not to much not till little just right. windlestone what is your name, i was at that eastgate trial. ;)

  6. racing plug, take front pipe off and remove all unburnt carbon, repack silencer, fiddle with jetting, but before all that give your filter a good cleaning. all them jobs cos virtully nothing, if you want to spend money theres other things you could do,.

  7. im going from a 200 sherco so maybe the 280 is a big jump? so what do the 250's pull like from the bottom, could a lot of sections be rode in 3rd with little revs the pull away or will it not have the power? thanks

  8. ultimax is the best petrol you can buy sherco recomends 2%premix =50:1 but i run mine at 66:1 with ipone oil. and sometimes a bit richer depending on how long the road sections are.

  9. the 280 can be ridden in higher gears and if you are worried about the extra poke put a slow action throttle tube on. The 300 is great!!!!

would it still be alrite for steps then? the main thing about the 280 im worrying about is how often it will throw we off the back on hill climbs.

  10. If this bike is second hand, make sure it has been properly maintained (ie: frequent oil changes, greased, and generally cared for)...if it hasn't, walk away.

how do i check this then?

i might just go for the 280 then because it is a little bit cheaper than the 250. what type of power is it on the 280 smooth or snappy power? any thing like the 300 because to rode one of them before and i thought it ws just tourqy power.? thanks
