  1. Hi there I got a Venhill Hose and Cable kit for my 280 and have had no problem fitting the throttle cable and front brake hose. Before I start on the clutch hose I need to know how to bleed it, is it the same as the front brake IE using the bleed nipple down through the banjo bolt? I have never bled the clutch and don't want to start tonight and have problems so I cant ride tomorrow, so just need to check the probably obvious!!!! Also like the brake is it better to force fluid in from the nipple so as to bleed up wards? Thanks in advance

I had one of those when they first came out, from what I remenber it was not an easy bike to ride. The power delivery was more motocross style and the width of the motor made getting through tight gaps difficult. The sump plate was convex shaped which means you cant rest on rocks and it also had a nasty habit of snapping handle bar clamp bolts for no apparent reason. It was not my favorite bike to say the least

Is it the watercooled model with the big rad scoops?
  4. A more modern bike would be easier to ride, and as such you should have even more fun. I am not familiar with a 314 but with it's age, the last 14 years of development a newer bike would of benifited from will give you a far sweeter handling bike, not to mention lighter and more responsive engine. Most reccomend newcomers to not go for a 280/300 engine but to try a 200/250 for ease of use. Hope this helps

Can someone give me a starting point for setting the front and rear damper settings. My bike has come with them all screwed all the way out, (very light damping) don't think this can be right, can it? Thanks in advance
  6. Thanks for the reply jon I shall try it this weekend Jan-- I am putting them on mainly for the look but they are supposed to help the bike run cooler, or so I was told.

I am wanting to fit a silicone hose kit to my 09 280, which is the best point to drain the cooling system down from? and with what do you refill it with?
  8. I think we have been getting cheap trials bikes for a long time now and it may end next year when the new models come out. Interesting to see how much they will be but I think
  9. I agree about the price and I am keeping it for a couple of years. The way I am looking at it, is that I am buying next years 280 six months early so should get 2 years on an up to date bike, so the price looks more normal. Thats what I convinced the missus anyway when it was questioned at home
  10. You are joking!!, dam I hope everything else is to spec or its an expensive gold paint job
  11. The bike I am getting has those new Michelin Light tyres on it, anybody got experience of pressures for them??
  12. I have been promised mine on Thursday, anybody got theirs yet and if so were they worth the wait?
  13. Thanks Jimmy, I'll try them out, I got myself a nice new Apico 0-15psi gauge that should do the trick
  14. Just starting again after a 12yr break, can't remember the correct tyre pressures for competition use, all replies welcome
