Will do, will probably call the trials fella at the Lakes Grass Track club, he should know the score. He used to be the Cumbria TRF contact guy. I will PM you, and meet you there! Clive

I had the same problem. Solved with combination Apico (dimpled) and standard Honda (paper and cork) plates Proper gear box oil New master cylinder piston Bleed the whole system good and proper But what I really think made the difference were new clutch springs - the old ones were compressed by about a quarter of an inch. Try replacing those first.

Not yet. My main riding is enduro and green laning, so when I get any time I tend to do that. I was hoping to find somewhere local to me so that I could sneak out for a couple of hours when I get the chance. Roundthwaite is not far from me, so it could be a good option. The place near Rochdale does look very good though, could be worth a trip. Cheers Clive

Nick/Randy Rat Could I have that PM too please? I am in a similar situation. Thanks Clive

Practice Area - South Lakes/Dales/Lancs/Cumbria, does anybody know of one? Sounds like the Westmoreland Motor Club have closed theirs, shame, as that was the only resaon I bought a trials bike - seeing as it is only 5 minutes from my house. Anybody know of anywhere else relatively near by, or just the nearest would do... ! Thanks Clive

Thanks for the advice chaps, tried the following; Changing the oil for the recommended ELF stuff Adjusted the lever Replaced the piston in the master cylinder Replaced the fluid and bled it good... Still dragging... I think I need to look at the clutch plates, and maybe go for some of the aftermarket ones recommended elsewhere. Anybody got experience of those?

Apologies for bringing up this well trodden subject again. I have been reading a number of old threads, and the only sure fired cure seems to be an after market clutch kit. I have changed the gear box oil to ELF, no difference. Setting off in 2nd seems to help, but when you are learning to ride trials it is a distraction I could do without. (If you can call constant stalling a distraction!) Has anybody got any experience of fitting a clutch kit? If so was it successful, and which one did you fit? Thanks Uncle Dave

I think I have found my own answer; "HELMET STAMPS Helmets are examined at scrutineering in order to assess wear and tear, general deterioration and to ensure that an ACU Approval Stamp is displayed. The only stamp eligible for competition use, except trials is displayed below." Cue picures of Gold and Silver stamps So looks like you do not need an ACU stamp for trials.

Just bought an Airoh Rock helmet, not the cheapest, but I wanted to get a decent one, carbon Kevlar shell etc. It does not have an ACU gold sticker. Did a bit of surfing, and one online shop is saying it has silver approval Will I be able to use it in competitive events? Apologies, probably a common question, but couldn't get the search feature to work on here. Thanks in advance Uncle Dave

What protective gear do people wear when trials riding? Just looks like helmet, gloves and boots to me. Why don't people wear more, is there really no need? Thanks for your advice Uncle Dave.
