  1. Anyone know the depth of the rings on a 99 Techno. I know they are 72.5 x ? I found some aftermarket rings but need to know if they are 1.0mm or 1.5 etc?
  2. Overheated my techno. Piston, barrel and compression all Ok, but waters getting forced out of the rad cap. Took the cylinder head off and you can see that the o rings have pushed into the damaged areas letting the exhaust gasses in/water out. Anyone know of a way to fix these damaged areas as a new cylinder costs more than the value of the bike?
  3. Possibly an airlock, it seemed to take very little coolant before appearing full. I will remove the front pipe, and have a look and also get a friend to help me, who knows more than me. Any idea how much a new piston and cylinder would cost, as no point stripping until I can afford the parts. Also I heard of a way to connect the fan that it runs all the time, as the thermostat/controller is quit pricey? Cheers
  4. I just changed my gearbox gasket and refilled the coolant. Took it out for a run up a big hill and a tapping sound started from the engine which got progressively louder, within a few minutes it give up. I am just wondering if maybe I did'nt put enough coolant in? I filled it to the top, but maybe it has to cycle through? Also I am now thinking my fan also stopped working as the engine seemed to overheat, because when it died there was a bit of smoke/steam coming from the head. Also a little oil was seen leaking from the head, just above where it says Beta. I am going to try to fix it myself, but not exactly sure what I am looking for as never really stripped an engine? Could it just be a gasket or more serious? I am sure the head had turned a darker colour from overheating also.
  5. Anyone know the bearing code for the following? http://trialstribulations.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34_66&products_id=161
  6. Had some vertical play on the swingarm. So pulled out the linkage that mounts to the shock. Needle bearings are pretty destroyed, anyone know the code for these and it is two needle bearings sat next to each other?
  7. Was out on my techno 99 other day, pressed front brake, lever came right back to the bar and oil seemed to p*ss out from the caliper half. Anyone know why this is, seal or caliper knackered? cheers
  8. Ok cheers! There is quite a bit of vertical play, so will have to take it apart and inspect.
  9. Anyone know the bearing codes for the four(think it's four) in the swing arm pivot on a 99 techno? £120 for the originals! Cheers
  10. I moved the overflow pipe and it seems better. I discovered the fan is not working though, the bike was overheating, this is what was causing the coolant leak. What should I check to find out why? Cheers.
  11. Thanks for the replies. The bike gets ridden fast quite a bit, as I use it on the road. The wheelie's are made short by this problem, it's very hard to get even power when it's in this position. Is the carb float problem easy to investigate for a novice like me? I will check out if the fan is working properly.
  12. Ok I will elaborate as you don't seem to be taking my question seriously. This is my first trials bike, so don't know a great deal yet. The fuel problem happens on big climbs also, like it is running rich. I also notice it loses a lot of fuel sometimes from the overflow? I sometimes do not turn the fuel of when storing, is this a problem? The coolant thing only happens when I wheelie it, so was just asking as maybe you can overfill the coolant?
  13. When I do wheelie's on my 99 techno 250, there seems to be a problem with power, it seems to choke a little like it is flooding which makes the power cut out. I also get coolant leaking down from under the fuel tank onto the head, but cannot see the leak source. Any suggestions to remedy these problems?
  14. I am thinking of making my own gasket, as there are no beta dealers in my country. Anyone done this?
