so that tube/bush comes out?
-
ah ok, its a 2007, il go aqnd have a look
-
how do you remove the wheel bearings from the rear wheel? there dosent seem to be anywhere to get anything in, theres a metal sleve/tube behind the bearings? so you can tap them out from each end?
-
can ATF be used in the sherco 290 2007?
does it have to be a certain rating?
ive tried a couple of different oils, the lastest being PJ1 light gear oil but still tend to find the plates stick when the bikes been stood a few hours..

i went from a 2002 sherco 290 to a 2007 sherco 290, but the gearing feels totally different,
if for example there is a long steepish hill to climb, it 3rd gear seems to low, but 4th seems to high..
on my 2002 theres a few long hills where i ride i used to climb in 4th no problem, but on this 2007 bike in 4th its bogging out by the top, in 3rd its revving like mad by the top..
any one else find the same, or is it just me?

1st time out on my bike today ive noticed the front brake is squeeling really loudly when applied... any ideas how i can stop it? it sounds awful and actually hurts my ears
-
just had a full day out on it and no problems at all.... looks like it was definatly the plug...
-
where do you get it form? online or a shop?
-
whats this stuff like?

so is it only oils with castor in it that gives off that distinctive smell?
quite a few bikes local give off that smell, and my sherco did when i 1st bought it..
is there another oil?
-
does tts have that weird smell to it?
-
can castrol A747 be used in late trials bikes (2007 sherco?)
when i purchased my bike im almost certain it was ran on this (mainly from the smell)
and was just wondering if its ok to use or not?
-
just found out that the bike had been ran on castrol R40 or A747.... ive just been told by a local motorbike shop that changing from that to a modern 2 stroke would of prob been the cause of the spark plug playing up and the dodgy running... is this correct?
-
what would happen if after the bike was rode and the clutch was working normal, when putting the bike away we left it with something round the handllebars/cutch lever to keep the clutch pulled in? the plates cudnt stick then could they?
-
when out riding, the odd time another trials bike passes me, it smells totally different, not like normal petrol/2 stroke
when i 1st bought my sherco it also smelt the same, a weird / different smell to it, but now im using my own petrol/2stroke the smell has gone. so im guessing its something to do with the petrol or oil??
any 1 any ideas? a different 2stroke maybe?
-
there we go, seems pretty normal now?
i keep expecting it to start going daft again lol! hope it dosent!
-
just had 20 mins out riding with the new spark plug in, and so far so good....
could a spark plug really cause the bike to do that?
-
changed the spark plug, and let it idle for about 10 mins, seems ok so far....
its abit intermitent tho, sometimes it does it some times it dosent..
a local shop thinks it might be the black box (coil?)
im not sure now, i will have to have a ride of it and see if it starts to do it again
-
ive checked where i can think of, its totally spot on when its cold, as soon as its warm enough to make the fan come on thats it, it runs like a bag of crap!
any ideas what i can do/check?
-
just had carb back off, took every single needle out and cleand the lot, when starting the bike cold it works and idles totally fine. once the bike gets warm, thats when it does the above
-
ive tried playing with it but it just makes it worse.
this is bugging me now, it seemed fine....
here is a quick vid of what its doing...
any one have any ideas, this is stretting me out
also ive just taken the spark plug out to see if its running lean or rich etc
my plug looks like the top one in this pic

on my 2007 sherco, once the engine has cooled down and not been run for a few hours, the clutch plates seem to be sticking together, so when you knock it in gear, even tho the clutch is pulled in the wheel starts to spin..
if i put it in gear, hold clutch in and rock it about, it frees straight away, but its abit of a pain having to do that every time.... whats causing it and can it he stopped or is it just something you have to put up with?
