Castrol A747?

Featured Replies

can castrol A747 be used in late trials bikes (2007 sherco?)

when i purchased my bike im almost certain it was ran on this (mainly from the smell)

and was just wondering if its ok to use or not?

Castrol 747 is a mineral castor oil not semi or fully synthetic.

It does not mix well in cold temperatures and is one of the most expensive

2 stroke oils to get hold of.

If i were you i would use Castrol TTS (545 in old terms)

which is fully synthetic, i have used this for years.

so is it only oils with castor in it that gives off that distinctive smell?

quite a few bikes local give off that smell, and my sherco did when i 1st bought it..

is there another oil?

747 all day and year long. The best and only 2 stroke oil worth having imho, you get the smell and also the best oil avaliable for a 2t. Considering the amount that you have to put into a modern 2t, ie around 80:1 with this stuff one bottle will last ages anyway.Plus never try and save a few quid and run cheap oil, i mean really what is the point?

I have run it in a kx 500 supermoto and all my 2t trials bikes and never had and engine or oil problem, speaks for itself really

Hey TFT, here all the time but do not post that much anymore. I am constantly making a real hard effort to keep out of mischief B_rant.gif
