2005 Handlebar Base Clamp Breakage

I have had my 280 Gasgas for 2 months now and it has just broke the handlebar base clamp (broke through pivot point) apparently this is a regular problem with these up and over type clamps for the fat bars without cross piece. So

my clamps broke also (without overtightening) and even though out of warranty was supplied with some renthal fat bar clamps make of that what you will (I think it shows there has been problems with some bikes)

The renthal clamps are the conventional ones aren't they? With top and bottom seperated? I was told gasgas would only supply the gasgas made hinged type on warranty! Your lucky mate! :wacko:

yes I thought I did well also I think the renthal ones are a much better clamp, maybe I got them because I had several problems with the bike (hence the beta this year)

My clamp broke as Iwas attemptimg wheelie, heard a cracking noise and found broken clamp when checking out bike.
