What Year

When I wanted to get a TY175 registered a few years back, I wrote to Yamaha UK with the frame and engine no asking for them when the bike was manufactured. They sent me a letter back telling me the year of manufacture, and this enabled me to get an age related plate on the bike. I was surprised at this that they still had a record of the beat up little TY I had bought, it had spent the last 15 years in someones shed and had mice living in the air box! Thinking about it though they must by law have to keep a record of every bike.

If you can be bothered to write the letter, this way you can find out for sure. There is also probably a site somewhere on the internet that you could put in the no's and it would give you an age. I am just guessing at this bit though.
