New Rev 3 Mikuni Carb?

Featured Replies

I'm new to Trails Central.  I have a 2008 Rev 3 250 that stalls going downhill in steep sections.  What carb mod kit do I need to fix this?  It runs great at all other times and positions.  I'm in the USA.  It has a Kehin carb.

  • AJ, not got an 07 (06) so cant say much more, look great bikes though hope you enjoy it. Well worth buying and getting the dealer to fit the float extension bowl as well, should cure pinking on climbs

  • Just thought I would add my 10p worth to this thread. Bought my 06 250 new and have had no problems at all. No fuel leaking, no downhill starting problems noticed and no loose bolts from new. Before

  • Been meaning to take some pictures of the Mikuni carb mods as there is always questions about it one here, hope they will help someday The pictures are of my carb with mods carried out by BVM earlier

If all is well with carb and no fuel leaks i.e. you have set the carb float tangs and modified the atmospheric vent pipes, then it might just be a case of the idle speed being to slow....in all down hills you should blip the throttle as too long on throttle closed may cause piston nipping ( seizure) due to lack of petroil mix.
