January 17, 200719 yr Hay people, I have a 03 montesa, and I am thinking of changing to a 200cc of some kind, probably a beta if anything. Would anyone recomend this? I am quite a good rider at club level, but a few people have told me that your confidence really grows if you ride a 200 as they dont scare you as much lol, whats it like to ride a 200cc has any one got one?

January 17, 200719 yr ask to have a go on a 200, I would surgest a beta 250 if you are a resonable rider. I tryed a 200 and thought it lacking a bit, the 250 is a really controlable bike , the power is perfect for us club riders, you may have to put up with carb leaking though.
January 17, 200719 yr I have got an 07 200 Beta. I am pleased with it and I do feel more in control of the bike than on previous ones I have owned. I think that I do ride it better than other bikes I have owned, although I don't neccesarily enjoy riding it as much as other bikes I have owned. If that makes sense. I rode in a trial on sunday with a lot of 4th gear climbs and it certainly didn't lack the power it needed to get up the climbs. The delivery just seems a lot smoother off the bottom end so you get better grip. I would say the top end power was very similar to the 04 250 Beta I had. The only thing I have found is that you have to make sure you are in the correct gear. I had a 4rt before and you get away with being in the wrong gear a lot of the time as it would just pull from nothing. On the Beta you have to think more about your gear selection. I guess it makes you a bit more focused on the job in hand, so I end up riding better. Probably a bit of new bike syndrome aswell.

January 18, 200719 yr The lad had a 200 and it never needed more power in the club trials we do. And when it came to wet muddy trials, it was brilliant! (And the 2004 model had better electrics than its 250 brother!)
January 19, 200719 yr Author nice pic, would you say the betas are as bomb prof as the montesas? Dont really want a gas gas, i will snap it in half in one event like i did with my last one
