February 6, 200719 yr Oil will run out but way before that happens it will become too expensive to use for every day activities. It's at this point that alternative forms of energy will become cost effective and will replace oil based fuels. Demand will dictate that alternative fuels become readily available at an affordable price and there are plenty of companys ready and waiting to meet that demand. The question is how many years into the future will this be?
February 6, 200719 yr Gizza5 Thought I recognised your tag from the UKGSer site. The silent engine would catch some people out, roll on the future. I still think the world is flat so no good to me.

February 6, 200719 yr Using fossil fuels to produce hydrogen isnt right is it ..From what i read the other night , demand for oil will outstrip supply in about 10-12 yrs 15 at the very best scenario and coal soon after. That means the price will obviously rise and demand will fall so production falls and the price stays high. Oil will still be around till 2050 but in very limited supply Who do you think has been buying patents for ideas using alternative fuels....the oil companies, so that they still have the power over what we can have for them to make money on. Whatever idea they`ve got planned , you can bet the govt will heavily tax it somehow fusion powered trials bike anyone ?
February 7, 200719 yr demand for oil will outstrip supply in about 10-12 yrs 15 at the very best scenario and coal soon after. when i was a kid back in the 70's they said we would run out of oil in 1985!! BTW the usa has enough coal reserves to last 200 yrs at our present rate of all forms of energy consumption. I believe China has even more coal the the states Fire up some new nuke plants and get the clean coal technology going and we're good for another hundred years or so.!! They also were saying that we were heading into a new Ice age. Now they are saying we are all going to melt. Not a very good track record if you ask me.
