Montesa Honda Gearbox

Featured Replies

I have a montesa honda 349 approx 1982 with gearbox problems. Does anyone know of any good montesa mechanics that would deal with this type of engine.

What country are you in?

If your here in the states Mike Komer at www.tryalsshop.com would be the one to go to.

In uk? I will let someone else handle that....

Howdy,

If the problem is a loose or non engaging shifter this is a common problem and easly fixed under the side cover.

The only Honda part on the bike is the front brake (If it is tapered) so the dam thing will stop.

Southwest Montesa will be glad to fix you up.

Sorry should have said i am in the UK. The gearbox goes into first and neutral and one other high gear I am not sure which probably fifth or sixth. I have taken the cover off the primary side and it all looks ok the gear shift mechanism looks fine and seems to operate. Is there a certain way to set it up? Splitting the engine is way beyond my capabillities but I can`t think what is wrong with it. Everyone seems very reluctant to have a look at it as it is an old bike. Help!!!!!!!!
