Kick Start Lever Bending?

Featured Replies

my kick start lever is bending in the shaft, not the where your foot rests, i decided to put it in a vice and try bending it back with some heat, rode today and she is starting to bend again, do i have faulty one or is this common? btw, my bike doesn't kick back and starts 1 or 2 kicks, it is a caby with the "different head" don't know if it's high compression or not.

cheers

I have seen one like this that appeared to have been improperly heat treated(soft). See if you can get some warranty assistance on it possibly? :banana2:

my dealer is looking into it, if not, he'll stand behind it, it's just bending too easy so i agree with you, something got missed in the process.

thanks for the reply

cheers

I did bend mine.. when I left the exhaust bung in after washing ,then tried to kick it over...Eeeh aww :banana2:

I bent one when the engine on my 290 backfired - a true banana shape! It didn't like being bent back, it snapped! Coincidentally it was also starting to tear at the shaft junction. Over 70 quid to replace.
