Hi,whilst on my o4 290 yesterday,the bike suddenly boiled over.I had a quick look at the fan which wasnt running, but it started up when i reved the engine,but as the revs dropped to tick-over,the fan stopped.This continued for a few minutes,then the fan stayed on irrespective of the revs then went off when engine had cooled as normal, and i had no further problems.The bike was running as normal.

Is this a sign of something about to go wrong?,any help woud be much appreciated

Yes,sorry,the fan went back to working normally and was ok the rest of the day

You may have had a foreign object stuck in the blades.

There was defintely nothing there,i could spin it freely.That is the first thing i looked for.

What you describe sounds as though the rectifier may be going. I would ck the connections first.

Thanks copmech.But there doesnt seem to be a rectifier according to the parts book.There is a regulator or a diode(which in spanish tranlates as rectificador).Could this be it??
