Beta Rev 3 Or Sherco

Featured Replies

im looking for my second trials bike, i fanci a beta rev3 or sherco 250 both would be round about 2002, is there any reliablilty faults on these bikes, and which bike do you recomend any other suggestions welcome.and how do both of them ride? thanks colly

Had a Sherco 250 ('02) for 21/2 years as my 'getting back into trials' machine. It's done me well, with no problems at all, just the usual wear and tear. The designs good, neatly tucked away exhaust etc, the only issue is that in standard trim water easily makes it from the rear wheel to the airbox (intake is 'vertical' beneath the 'seat' area), but that's easily sorted. They are susposed to be a bit more 'firery' than the 290 which seems softer at the bottom end, but I fitted a slow action throttle and can't say it seems too lively at all. '02s have that Sherco whine from the primary gears, that the factory reduced in later years.

I've no experience of Betas, but they do seem well built.

I'' be putting mine up for sale at the end of the month, if you're interested.
