  1. Nice words fella, I'll be interested to see what (if any) response you get. Heath, I'm worried about you, that Beta has affected you in a strange way! Still I ened up building bedroom furniture instead of sitting infront of the TV.
  2. B'stards! same as their promised coverage of cycling, always gets bumped down the list of priorities in favour of pub games. That was an afternoons skiving wasted then
  3. Sorry if this has been asked/answered before, can't find 'owt on their website. Thanks.
  4. Cheers R2W, I appriciate that. I agree, I haven't seen any of the trials lads leaving mess, either in the quarry or the carpark. Most probably is the kids on 'crossers and stolen scooters.
  5. Yep, all that R2W said, with the addition of the larger rubber frame/shock cover (from GasGas UK), a Raddycool radiator guard and front mudflap. All these seem to reduce the amount of water and muck getting to the intake. On my '04 Pro I've removed the 'flapper valve' from the drain and blanked the large oval(ish)drain off with an ally plate. I then drilled 2 3mm holes, one in each bottom corner as drains. Seems to work for Cotswold streams and cack, not tried it in scottish burns yet!
  6. Hi, I used to live down that way (Heddington, south of Calne) and struggled to find anywhere to practice. I too had heard of the venue at Petit France (N of Old Sodbury on A46)but never found out exactly where and everyone I spoke too had heard of it from a mate.... Happily I now live 5 mins from Kilkenny, which is pretty good planning. It's a good venue but can get a bit crowded at weekends, probably about an hour from you. BTW, anyone using Kilkenny would you mind taking any litter away please? The Cotswold Warden had a little moan about it t'other day. Thanks.
  7. Looking to swap my car for a good 2nd hand Dualiner. Can anyone give me some sensible answers about running costs (servicing etc), I'd like to hear that a big service (60k miles) was less than the
  8. OK, I'm biased, but the 250 seems to be pretty good in the Cotswold mud.
  9. Yep, it really ****s me off, Ill mannered as much as anything else.
  10. OK, I've got an '04 Pro, and am thinking that it might be useful to get it sorted for road use (hindsight is great, innit?) How do I go about this?
  11. Hmm, are you sure that all the lining is removable from a Hebo Raga? I've got one too, and hadn't noticed this feature. Mind you, I rarely read any instructions
  12. Saddlers/Equestrian Suppliers sell hat cleaner and freshener, both as an aerosol foam. I've been stealing my SO's horsie supplies for years, works well.
  13. All of the above, and steady with that jetwash!

    Pro Mods

Personally I peeled off the standard flap and then stuck the larger one on using evostik. Can't see it really matters either way. I totally echo r2's comments re: carb set up, works for me, and as he says, repacking the silencer makes an amazing difference.

    Needle Jet

Can't help with carb set ups but on my '04 250 I've replaced the airbox flap with an alloy plate sealed with silicone (use the 2 screws to mount it) and left a small hole (2.5mm) at the lowest point (centre, forward edge of drain hole) to allow any water that may get in thru the airbox intake or lid to drain out. Nothing of any significance seems to get back in, well not in the Cotswolds, anyway, not even submerging it in streams or quarry ‘puddles’. This mod and then keeping the lid seal in good condition, checking the carb rubbers are aligned correctly and care with the jet-wash should all but eliminate cack getting in to the airbox/carb. r2w is right about water tracking down the throttle cable, this seems to happen more after rigorous washing/jet-washing than riding in the full brunt of the elements IME. The larger rubber air box protector and engine/radiator shield from BVM (www.bvm-moto.co.uk/bikeprot.htm#airfilterengine ) and larger air box mud flap from GasGas UK (or make your own, ‘s easy) seem to reduce the amount of muck getting into the intake area, too.
  16. Had a Sherco 250 ('02) for 21/2 years as my 'getting back into trials' machine. It's done me well, with no problems at all, just the usual wear and tear. The designs good, neatly tucked away exhaust etc, the only issue is that in standard trim water easily makes it from the rear wheel to the airbox (intake is 'vertical' beneath the 'seat' area), but that's easily sorted. They are susposed to be a bit more 'firery' than the 290 which seems softer at the bottom end, but I fitted a slow action throttle and can't say it seems too lively at all. '02s have that Sherco whine from the primary gears, that the factory reduced in later years. I've no experience of Betas, but they do seem well built. I'' be putting mine up for sale at the end of the month, if you're interested.
  17. Can anyone tell me where I can obtain/download these for my '04 250 Pro? Ta.
  18. Try Hat cleaner from a saddlers(a foam product like car upholstery cleaner), I'm always 'borrowing' the girlies, seems to keep my Hebo sweet. De-odouriser is also available from the same source.
