October 29, 200817 yr Can anybody give me some advice on how to over come the problem of the front brake really fading when its really wet & muddy. I rode a trial at the weekend which I have to say was really sloppy horrible mud and at times the front brake leaver was nearly reaching the handlebar. now that it has all dried out it feeld fine. Any suggestions on how to eliminat such brake fade? Regards Tony
October 30, 200817 yr Unfortunatly that is one problem that we all suffer from and there is nothing you can do about wet/muddy discs&pads= no brakes!
October 30, 200817 yr Front brake fade in muddy conditions is caused from mud packing into the caliber and changing the distance from pads to disc or causing the disc to fail to reset. This is in extreme mud I am talking. Find a way to clean your brake caliper asm out at least once a loop and it will help tremendously.
