March 13, 200917 yr As the title says, what do I need to do? Do I need a rimlock what about the valve? Been up for 5 hours already today so please make replies as simple to follow as possible
March 13, 200917 yr You dont mention it its a tubless rim. Will assume not. I treat it as a tubed type inc rimlocks.
March 13, 200917 yr No dont do it as the rim is edged unlike a tube type and this will result in punctures at low pressure. I did this on Fantic 245 and had puncture after puncture.
March 13, 200917 yr we always use to do it ,years ago on our outfit and never had a problem,dont do the valve up tight in case it slips.the only problem we had is when we tryed a tubed tyre on a tubless rim , didnot like that.
March 13, 200917 yr Tubless tyre on a tubless rim with a tube fitted 100% no problem. Simply remove the tyre, remove the valve, fit a tube and refit the tyre. Job sorted. I've used this method when I've had a puncture, then when you repair the tyre (or fit a new one) simply remove the tube and refit the valve.
March 13, 200917 yr I agree with Pete scorpa3 We used to do this all the time when I was in Hong Kong. Always on modern bikes with tubeless rim and tubeless tyre. As he said..just wip the valve out, put the tube in, and off you go! Piece of cake
