i was out yesterday riding in a steep wooded hillside and found my bike was leaking petrol from the carb vent tubes

on to the sump guard, i moved them to miss the sump guard and leak on the floor but still found the bike to smell

strongley of petrol. would the lampkin carb modiforcation stop this from happening ? i havent noticed it before, mind you

it is only 4 weeks old, its an 08 300 rev 4. if this carb mod fixes it how do i get the carb out ?

Warranty claim. I wouldnt be spending money on a 4 week old bike to cure a problem like this, if you hav'nt touched the carb and done anything that could have caused the problem.

Yip Agreed. Their mod doesn't effect fuel level in the carb. I would have thought the float or float valve was sticking - perhaps there is dirt in the fuel or fuel filter.

could someone point me in the right direction for a breakdown diagram of the carb for a 4 stroke my 4 year old managed to pull all the vent pipes off while i was cleaning it out and i cant seem to find which one goes where etc and not sure if the different lenghts will make a difference to its running thanks for any help

Try this... I have had huge difficulty finding how to proerly tune the BSR carb.... but this was helpful. Oh and the same carb is fitted to some Yams and Suzukis

Thanks NZRALHY will keep a copy of that its very handy but noticed that it only seems to show one breather hose i seem to have three ????? trouble is i never took any notice of them when i took the carb out it was only when my son had them in his hands i realised i wasnt sure where they went may have to give lampkins a call later today

The two lowest vents on RHS & LHS go downwards. At the top of the carb one RHS larg vent is blocked off with a cap, and the one next to it (smaller in diameter) the vent goes upwards past the fuel cap
